I would rather have Duke and UNC than Virginia Tech and NC State. We increase market share marginally less, and become the undisputed power in the Big 3, absorbing the greatest rivalry in college basketball.

Just like when we added Mizzou, we don't need a football power with every move. Leave the ACC/Big 12 some marginal talent.

I forgot what a football power A&M is... :roll eyes:

If you are going to insult us, at least beat us sometime...

I agree you should look out for yourselves, but having a basketball first interest is what caused FSU and Clemson to start looking elsewhere, yall won't be smart enough to try and join the SEC, just like you weren't smart enough to avoid this situation.

We hired butch davis and added to our football field. We tried...just failed miserably. And we are not the acc, we play in it.

Cocky, I think if the ACC falls apart(i.e. FSU & Clem bolting) you guys, Dook, UVA & Maryland/GT will go to the B1G...Geography, Academics, AAU & CIC ties etc,...

I like the 4 division setup better.

North: Vandy, Tennessee, Kentucky, VA Tech
East: NC State, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida
South: Auburn, Alabama, Ole Miss, Miss State
West: LSU, Arkansas, Texas A&M, Missouri

you have to divide up the power schools and the weakest schools - ole miss, msu, vandy, ky must be in four diff divisions... the power schools like florida, bama, lsu, uga, tenn, auburn etc should be as evenly divided as possible.

Something like this would do a better job:

SW: LSU, A&M, Arky, Ole Miss
NW: Bama, Auburn, Missouri, MSU
NE: Tenn, Va Tech, NC State, Vandy
SE: Florida, Georgia, USC, KY

That gives some sort of rational footprint and divides up the good and the bad programs make for more even divisions.

With those four pods you also need one fixed out of division opponent to further level the scheduling and maintain key rivalries. For that I would suggest the permanent opponents as follows:

SW:
LSU - Florida
Arky - Va Tech
A&M - Missouri
Ole Miss - MSU

NW:
Bama - Tenn
Auburn - Georgia
Missouri - A&M
MSU - Ole Miss

NE:
Tenn - Bama
Va Tech - Arky
NC State - USC
Vandy - KY

SE:
Florida - LSU
Georgia - Auburn
USC - NC State
KY - Vandy

This would even up the schedules. It is not fair to a Vandy for them to not have a similar quality permanent opponent when most of their within division opponents tend to be better. Similarly, LSU or Florida should be paired with a similar quality program because lining them up to always face Ole Miss or KY would be an unfair advantage (Ole Miss and KY already have to face LSU and Florida within their divisions)

You guys haven't beaten us since 2006, we're 5-3 against you since the formation of the Big 12 (1996), won the last three, and have beaten you the last two straight years at Kyle Field.

Put that red-line west of Auburn and east of Vandy and you got somethin' working.

I really like that pod setup. If you did 1 and dones instead of home and homes with out of pod teams I think you could face every team in the league in 4 years?

I know the only reason you're in the league was because the SEC wanted us. You're a throw in. Long hair don't care.
