Texas Fans were just there winning a BCS National Championship a few years ago. I'm sure they consider the Rose Bowl their 2nd Home Field. It's there House unless Bama can take it from them.

yeah, all of the official UA travel packages are leaving on the 5th & 6th.
UA has a pretty large Southern Cal alumni chapter (not Texas large, i'm sure) but other than that I wouldn't expect to see many alabama fans until later this week.

Historically, Alabama fans travel VERY well, compared to other fan bases.

I'm not going to the game but followed the ticket market closely on ebay, craigslist, stubhub, etc. over the last few weeks.
Tickets on the Bama side were going for cheaper, and I know of many Texas folks who gobbled up the cheaper Bama side tix when they got to the $550-$600 level. Texas will indeed have the crowd but not by an overwhelming margin.
Texas has a very large alumni base in Cali so I'm not surprised. Not to take anything away from Bama's great national following and fan base / alumni. UT always gets a great crowd for the Rose and Holiday Bowls. Bama will also bring the RV's and fans expecting to get a relatively cheap ticket the day-of. But from previous experience those are hard to come by for a game like this.

"It's Their house unless Bama takes it from them"
Really? Better go look up our records at the Rose Bowl. We've never lost there all time (May have lost one??) Anyway it's "Our House" not Texas' Oh and ROLL TIDE.

That would be insane. Driving all the way across the country? No thanks.

I know this is getting back at a Bama fan about the Orlando thing, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot more Texas fans in the stadium. They are a lot closer to Pasedena than Alabama.
I hate UAT but those mofo's would mortgage their double wide to go. I would put good money down that it will at least be a 50/50 split. At least.

We did it for UCLA in 2000...it was insane, like a Bama home game in the parking lots.

Yeah, especially considering the coldest weather of the past 15 years is about to hit from El Paso to Birmingham.

Alabama has played and won more Rose Bowls than any other team, not a Pac 10 team. 4-1-1 in Bowl games there. The only players from Tx that were there were freshmen or redshirt freshman and unlikely played.

I just can't understand it. The last thing I would want to do is spend days driving an RV across the country. Sounds miserable.
Especially when there are those things called airplanes these days.

Texas travels very well. This is not a surprise. Who do you think has more money? Texas grads or Bama grads?

Not saying that it will be 50/50, but we'll show up... we always do.

None of the Bama fans that I know were leaving earlier than today. If I were going, I can tell you that two of the last places that I would have on my list are Disney and Universal. I expect Texas to have more fans at the game but not many more.

Good point... I leave Wednesday and only know one person that's leaving on an earlier date (tomorrow).

El Paso is closer to San Diego than it is to Houston. For some reason, that just doesn't seem right.

El Paso is about 875 miles from where I-10 crosses into Texas on the East side of the state.
Texas is one BIG arse state...
