I am not on the King wagon. He was held back early and looked awesome for one year as a junior in high school playing for his dad on a stacked squad. He then crapped the bed as a senior with multiple high interception meltdowns. He is a good but not elite athlete with a strange throwing motion.

Maybe I am totally off base but the recruiting hype never seemed to be matched by on the field production.

Can’t comment much on Johnson since I didn’t really watch him. Calzada filled in admirably but it was pretty obvious he didn’t have “touch”. He just never really seemed in sync with his wrs. Truthfully, if Auburn was more stable we would either know if Calzada was just under coached or is truly a clipboard holder.

Zach had a few highlights, beat Bama, and otherwise delived offensive futility and incredibly painful results including losing to a gimped out, loser LSU squad.

I'm not sure why Aggies blame Calzada for the LSU loss, he played pretty well in Baton Rouge.

Before this thread gets out of hand, Weigman is a future Heisman candidate.

A quarterback will never put up Heisman winning numbers playing in Jimbo's offense in the SEC West.

People said the same about LSU in the Jordan Jefferson era. Also have you watched any Weigman film?

And LSU had to change offensive systems in order for Burrow to win it.

Thanks for proving my point.

Fisher is not going to do much with that #1 class. But 8&4feit will keep him on and moan about that empty trophy case not really being his fault.

The only point you ever make is that you just look at stats after the fact and don’t actually know football.

That's why all the talk of him going to LSU was foolishness.

The dude can go 8-4 and literally quit on the bowl game because he's scared of taking a loss and still be a god in Coward Station.

And his contract is fully guaranteed.

Who the frick would leave that?

Jordan Jefferson beat Alabama twice in a row back when their defense was actually good.

And then he threw the frick all over Aggy in JerryWorld

What "football knowledge" am I mistaken about?

You're the one who just attempted to rebuff my comment about Jimbo's offense by saying:

Perhaps you're the one who doesn't actually know anything about football.

So you were satisfied with the QB play back then?

LSU has the most insecure fan base in the SEC.

And the have resigned themselves to being bama's prison bitch.

Jimbos QB recruiting has been his biggest limitation IMO. He has built a great defense and recruited a lot of talent but his QB recruiting has been atrocious. Until he fixes that, he will be an 8 or 9 win coach.

You’re kidding, right? Besides DL, the QB recruiting has been the best of all the positions.

Even with all the talent and the transfer of LSU’s QB, Jimbo still got the #2 rated QB in Louisiana for 2023.

Yeah he’s addressed the issue but I believe he’s referring to what we had on the field during his first 4 years.

They will have a very strong roster if they can keep all these guys for a couple of years. Yes Georgia just won a championship without a strong qb, but I feel like that’s not the norm. If they can catch the league in a year where offenses are not up to par like Georgia did, maybe they can make a run. But jimbos offense will never be good enough to compete for championships year in and year out.

TAMU needs 2 more classes like the last one before they can dream of pulling that off.

Or maybe LSU is a dumpster fire and he realky likes living in Texas. Hard to comprehend for you, I know, but it’s not your fault.

It’s not. your. fault.

Absolutely

Barring injury, he will be the starter by the end of this year, and he will be in Heisman contention his sophomore season.

He is TAMUs version of Jimbo getting Jameis Winston. Connor has the ability to be that impactful.
