re: Why can’t Texas A&M win anything? Serious question….

Maybe 2014 . . .that was a bizarrely mediocre Sooner squad.

Why would there be an investigation?
The NCAA has had to commit 100% of its current resources just to investigate the ongoing and widespread violations in the LSU athletic department.
Unless it doubles its staff quickly, I don't see many other investigations for the next few years.

Fans of Derrius Guice University cannot weigh in on this discussion.

Huh we are not sad at all we actually believe that Venables was a uograde over Riley .
I am not sure if Venable is an upgrade . . .time will tell. Riley's stature is massively overstated however and it was clear he was getting less production out of more talent every year. OU will have a bit of a speedbump with this recruiting class but will likely be fine after that.

What possible reason would an A&M fan have to look down on OU fans?
The same reason we look down on LSU fans. The state of Texas has several third world neighbors whose entire existence revolves around college football. We are happy to invite you all in for labor purposes but don't get too uppity. There is plenty of migrant labor to choose from.

Eh . . . we border them and know them too well. I have always felt bad for OU fans.
OU football and the State of Oklahoma is akin to a Buffalo Wild Wings waiter driving a $90,000 Range Rover.
You may be impressed for a short period, but then you clue in that they are driving home to a dumpy apartment, credit card bills, and a long life of frustration. That 10 minutes of bling is all they got.

If Weigman or King pan out, and I believe one of them will
I am not on the King wagon. He was held back early and looked awesome for one year as a junior in high school playing for his dad on a stacked squad. He then crapped the bed as a senior with multiple high interception meltdowns. He is a good but not elite athlete with a strange throwing motion.
Maybe I am totally off base but the recruiting hype never seemed to be matched by on the field production.

Don’t know why Calzada left. He has to be better than Johnson

Zach had a few highlights, beat Bama, and otherwise delived offensive futility and incredibly painful results including losing to a gimped out, loser LSU squad.

I can tell you one thing, the slapdick faggies that post on here are not wealthy.
They probably:
1) Don't have payday loans
2) Have not taken out a subprime on a double-wide and
3) Did not leverage their balance sheet to afford a six year old Dodge Raptor with 90,000 miles on the odometer
which makes them incredibly wealthy by the Louisiana standard.

I remember going to Norman when the Sooners and young Josh Huepel hammered a pretty good A&M team. Stoops improvement was too fast for cheating... the staff was just amazing. It was sweet when you knocked off the Cornhuskers as those guys were the black hats of the day.

Not really... I do think OU has done it right under Stoops and Riley but the 1980s and prior were pure financial engineering.
But to the moderators point, we should discuss A&M and SEC recruiting. Switzer, Charles Thompson, Big Red Automotive and Rhett Bomar, Bosworth, etc are clutter here.

I don't know..Oklahoma used a multi-decade program of rampant cheating and bribery to gain their status. It was capped by Barry Switzer, drug arrests, rape, and felony violence. Now I know A&M has its own Jackie Sherrill baggage and Jimbo had his issues at Florida State. Still, no Sooner should come pounding their chest without acknowledging they represented the college football equivalent of ISIS for a long stretch.
re: Could your team's offense beat your team's defense if they played against
Posted by Windy City Ag on 10/20/11 at 12:26 pm
Considering A&M is lighting it up on offense while concurrently allowing record days for each and every offense it faces, I think the answer is yes.
