You still made up a bunch though. They aren't listed for 1936, 37, 50, 62, 63, 74, 76, 80, 91, and 94.
From CFB Data Warehouse
No, I didn't "make them up"

That's not the records book. No one claims titles that aren't list there by the NCAA.

I never used the phrase "the records book". The statement was "Alabama claims every title anyone has ever given them". My point was that no, they don't - if they did, they'd have 30.
And the Auburn fan whose signature was the catalyst (sorry I don't recall the name) most assuredly did not find Auburn listed 11 times in that link.

Then you need to stop crying about UCF claiming 2017. Can't have it both ways.

You're having trouble grasping this, aren't you?

I'm not the one who made a permanent response sig because of a rival poster on here.

If you check the record 4 of Bear's titles were legitimately contested. That is what separates Saban, he has coached in the first era where champions come closest to being legit.

The OT is much more civilized. Think about that for a second.

It's because a lot of dumb fricks on here kept saying that Bama claimed every championship anybody had ever awarded us. So, I decided, why fight it?
Honest question gets an honest answer.

Better than losing a sig bet and having the color of mustard on my posts for an entire year.

It's not for an entire year. Now you're getting confused from being rustled.

I read most of the time on here cause it's hilarious how folks get so extreme about this stuff. My daughter's in the marines, been gone three years now, so some things are very trivial to me now. Wish more folks cared more about what really matters, but still fun to read the jargon.

You’re right. But a lot of people, myself included, use this board as a release/escape from day to day life and the very real pressures that come from it. Most of what is said here is tongue in cheek and good natured joking. On this board we are just one big goofy family of folks just having a little fun.

12, actually, with 1992 added to Bryant's 6 and Sabans 5 and that's far more modern titles than anyone, including Notre Dame and that 12 alone is good enough for me.

What I remember most about coach Bryant's NCs is that there was always a "Cholly Mac" azz kicking along the journey.

quote:Most only consider wire service NCs which includes the AP from 1936 and the Coaches which began in 1950. This weeds out the others like you see in the list you show. There was at least one NC selector like FWAA, Billingsly, etc. who chose Bama in these other years. But most Bama fans and the University only claim 12 from 1936 forward: 61, 64, 65, 73, 78, 79, 92, 09, 11, 12, 15, 17, as well as 4 prior: 25, 26, 30, 34. The University inexplicably claims a bogus NC in 1941. Anyway that is how Coach Bryant is correctly credited with 6, not the ridiculous 14 in this list, though there was at least one selector who chose them in those other 8 years.
If he coached at Alabama from 1958 till 1982 and he has been credited legitimately with 6 National Championships, then why does Skrayper tag this incorrect info on his post:
UA - 30 time nat champs - 1925, 1926, 1930, 1934, 1936, 1937, 1941, 1945, 1950, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1973, 1974, 1975 - 1980, 1991, 1992, 1994, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017
This would reflect 14, is this a lie?

Alabama was awarded as many titles as they claimed, there was no organization that was accepted until 1936 when the AP began polling, prior to that many sources named national champions, who is to say who is correct
