Baton Rouge is bad, but it doesn't cover the same square miles as South Central.

I would say Louisiana is way above USCw. The only way I'd say its better is the road to be in the top 4 is way easier.

Have you ever been to South Central?

Yeah, honestly given the surrounding area, UCLA’s campus is one of the most beautiful in the country.

And by that same criteria, USC’s is not.

Any program in the SEC, especially those in the west, I think will struggle to get a top tier coach while Saban is at UA

I realize that Lane Kiffin and Mike Leach are not going to be viewed as "top tier" but they didn't exactly flinch when presented with job offers in the SEC West.

Jimbo Fisher didn't seem phased in the least by the prospect of facing Saban every year. If he's not "top tier", he's got to be damn close and begs the question just how many coaches are "top tier".

Okay, Kiffin enjoys needling Saban so perhaps he's a special case.

Without Saban at UA LSU in my opinion would be a top destination, though partly because of Saban's tenure there.

Yes, I suppose you could say the same about Florida because of Spurrier's tenure or Bama because of Bear's tenure or blah blah blah every program had to have somebody lift it up to its true potential.

With USC you know that every program, and I do mean every program, on or near the West Coast is fishing in your waters... and fishing in your waters with some success.

Very, very true. Every program west of the Rockies depends heavily on California recruits.

And with Cristobal reeling in class after class, USC is going to need someone like him to sell, sell, sell USC.

USC is still USC. They'll get back on track eventually with the right coach. Maybe they go back to the NFL well again and find the next Pete Carroll.

USC is a better job overall but LSU is probably an easier job right now

in the end its going to come down to what you value

USC:
easier path to CFP
less recruiting comp in conference
NO SABAN!!!
quality of life as a multi-millionaire and better schools for my kids.

LSU:
more money for staff and overall
better facilities
better conference
better support from admin and fans
better talent currently

toss up:
overall recruting talent in region
expectations
Crime

Unbiased...Im going USC because i personally would crave being able to have longevety. I love LSU but thats how i feel.

If the LSU job was to come open, where would it rank in comparison to USC? With upcoming SEC expansion & CFP expansion every SEC job should increase in prestige & overall desirability. The lure of a weak conference may be appealing to some but USC doesn't own recruiting in their own back yard.

By the time the NCAA does open-heart surgery, without the anesthesia, on your football and basketball programs, Elmer Fudd wouldn't have the job.

Lane Kiffin and Mike Leach

Neither are top tier and both have something prove. They were brought in to help the program but neither is currently a contender. The expectation for both is they will not beat Saban on a regular basis so why not take the jobs and if they find great success lets se how long they stick around their current gig.

Jimbo I do not consider top tier but that is my opinion. Yes he won a title but so did Chizik and O. Just saying

USC job is overrated IMO. LSU is a way better job and it’s not even close.

My opinion as well but overall, the rest of the landscape doesn't see this and has a different perspective.

LSU beats the shite out of USC in at least 4 of those categories.

But those sweaters though...
