Fournette shouldn't be LSU's, yet.
Don't think any current guys in college should be on this list

Billy Cannon, Jerry Stovall, Tommy Casanova, Dalton Hilliard, Kevin Mawae, Kevin Faulk, Josh Reed, Leonard Fournette

I guess I have to apologize. I didn't see the link.
I must have overlooked the possibility that anybody who supposed should be a legitimate columnist would be that stupid.

All good, for what its worth, I didn't agree with most of the choices but I thought it would be interesting to see what other people would have picked.

Wasn't Forrest Gump from Greenbow?

John Hannah for us. He was born in GA but grew up in AL.

Any list that doesn't have Tim Couch as tops for UK, I'm not real sure what to say.
He was the #1 pick in the NFL Draft for God's sake.

And he married a playmate

I'd put Kevin Faulk there instead of Fournette, at least for now

South Carolina
Best: Jadeveon Clowney, Rock Hill
I'd go with Lattimore over Clowney, he changed their program for a while

Cannon was born in MS and moved to LA before middle school.

LSU-Andrew Whitworth West Monroe. HS All American. Started more games than any other tiger when he left school. 12 years in the NFL. Multiple Pro Bowls.
Nah it's Faulk, but Whit deserved a mention.

Looks like whoever put this together couldn't be over 22.
So here's one with a little more research:
Heres one with more research and ideas
Although Tebow is a great player and symbol for UF, there have been other great players:
A guy named Emmitt Smith 1987-89. Wes Freaking Chandler who remains as the highest drafted WR in SEC history, a third overall pick after he played qb & rb also in a wishbone offense from 1974-79...the most gifted WR Ive ever seen...but played for an offense that didnt believe in passing the ball....and went to the hapless Saints for a few years before finally getting a lot more notice with San Diego. Defensively we had DE Jack Youngblood of the late sixties who played for Rams and was unstoppable...he even played with broken leg. Also had safety Louis Oliver a walk on AA Academic and football star who was drafted in first round by Dolphins along with S/DB team mate Jarvis Williams (2nd round) who wrecked havoc in the SEC in the mid to late 1980s.
Bama has Cornelius Bennett & Lee Roy Jordan who were beasts, UGA had DE Bill Stanfil and safety Jake Scott, who played in NFL late 1960s-70s. UGA had David Pollack and Ben Zambiasi....Richard Tardits, Bill Goldberg, and Hines Ward werent native sons. LSU had Jerry Stovall, Pat Screen, Billy Masters (or LeMasters?) from the 1960s....too many from out of state.
AU? I gave up...too many great players from out of state,
Kentucky had Rodger Bird who I remember carried the team back in the mid sixties...was safety in the pros but played everywhere for UK...RB, WR etc etc
Just a little history.

Jeez, must be a sad day, I have to agree with a Clemson fan. Lattimore is the correct answer for South Carolina. Every bit as good on the field before his injuries as Clowney, and much more impactful off the field. A real shame knee injuries robbed him of his career.

Just proves once again that Fournette > Chubb
Actually, since there is some discussion as to which of them is better (Chubb, Fournette) LSU's best player of all time is only as good, or a little better than Georgia's 2nd or third (or lower) best player.

(And don't start that tiredtiredtired argument again!)

Loved Hilliard, but I'm not sure I would put him in the same class as Fournette. Or Faulk, for that matter. LOVED Stovall and Casanova, though. GREAT players! Cannon was, too, but I am turned off by his legal problems. (I know that it has nothing to do with what he did on the field)
Hilliard may have been in the same class as Fournette. Time tends to either diminish memories or expand them.

Ben Zambiasi
Interesting you brought up Zambiasi. I dated a girl that went to High School for a bit with him in Germany. Military brats. He was a good one.
