Home games in late December. Thank goodness for SEC hosting 3 of them.

It’s 4 degrees outside where I am (northern Minnesota). We’ve already had 18 below this season(with RealFeel in the minus 30’s), and it supposed to get colder this weekend. Wintry mix last night and tomorrow. (Snow is much easier to deal with.)
SEC teams hosting this weekend should be thankful. Even Oregon should have cool, but not cold weather this weekend.
Not an issue this year, but there will come a time when an SEC team or two will have to play in the conditions at a midwest B1G site.

It happened just last year with the Vols at OSU. Ugly game for the sherbet orange

Yep...high in Columbus was 30 but the temperature at kickoff was 25 with 13 mph winds. That gives you a crazy cold windchill (feels like temp) of 13.5 degrees.
Had they played in Knoxville instead, the high was 37 but the temperature at kickoff would have been 28 with 11 mph winds. So, in Knoxville it would have been a balmy windchill (feels like temp) of 18.2 degrees.
That difference of 4.7 degrees in the windchill temp would have made all the difference in the world (how do you denote sarcasm on here, again?).

For once, I agree with a Vol. Kentucky, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Missouri all get pretty decent winters. Hell, it was 4*F here in Lexington on Monday.
Of course we will never host a playoff game unless we get our shite together, but the point remains....this notion that SEC schools don't experience cold games is nonsense.
Some November's when teams come to Lexington it's mild, some times it's balls cold. It is what it is.

Was at Bills - Cincy game 2 weeks ago. Snow flurries but very enjoyable.

That’s the thing the media blows way out of proportion. It’s not like OSU has all Nordic players on their team obviously. They get a good amount of recruits from Texas and Florida and a few sprinkled in from Georgia and California. Those guys have probably never played a game that cold in high school. Much like Tennessee’ players. It wasn’t the weather that was the main issue. Ryan Day and Chip Kelly went on a great playoff run. Nothing more

The coldest game I've ever been to was Tennessee vs Kentucky in late November, 1981. The high was 30 degrees and the low was 29 (and the wind was crazy), and it had rained the day before. The stadium was an ice block and I saw a woman slip and go down 15 or so steps on her butt before she stopped.
When they played there in '87, the low was 18. It was plenty cold in November in Lexington, many times that I've been there for games.
