extra chromosome level analysis

everyone plays 36 SEC games in a 4 year cycle. 30 of those are the same for everyone (play the other 15 teams twice each)

the other 6 are 2 extra games against your 3 perms. the 3 perms were largley rivalry and geography based. year by year schedules are just matter of rotation

UGA perms happen to be down now but you really think there was some "intent" for the purpose you stated

Historically UGA has been able to hide their flaws with the most pansy of schedules. For half a century the SEC played only six conference games, they played Vandy, Kentucky and Ole Miss every year and never Bama, UT or LSU (add Georgie Tech for good measure). It always came down to if UGA beat Auburn then they were most likely at least tied for a SEC championship. Their trophy case is very misleading as they never played the SEC powers except Auburn.

When a team is really good, their schedule looks easier. Put UGA's schedule on almost any other team and it doesn't look so easy. You cannot make a schedule for UGA where they are not favored in just about every game.

Kirby is 65-7 since his first year in the regular season against the SEC. Any schedule would be considered a cupcake.

Well they played in the SEC east before divisions were removed. The east was a cakewalk every year.

Wait people think UGA has an easy schedule?

- Road games at Alabama and Ole Miss
- 3 current CFP playoff teams
- 5 currently ranked teams
- Florida and Auburn look weak but are traditional rivals with new coaches that always play us fairly tight.

No one has an “easy” schedule in the SEC anymore.

This is the dumbest take that keeps rearing it's head on this board. Yes, the west was tougher most years. But, in 2013, there were two SEC East teams in the top 5 of the country.

In the first 17 years after the SEC split into divisions and played an SEC Championship game, the east won 11 of them.

Of the top teams that won the SEC Championship game the breakdown is this:

Alabama-11
Florida-7
Georgia-6
LSU-5
Auburn-3
Tennessee-2

Just because Alabama dominated the west does not necessarily mean the east was bad "every" year. Again...the west was tougher later in the years, but it shows a total lack of awareness of history to say the east was "a cakewalk" every year.
