The amount of fricks that the current generation of Waltons give about Arkansas is probably equivalent to the amount that a Walmart employee gives to their job.

Waltons did not get wealthy making bad financial decisions.

Arkansas is the greeter fella of Walmarts.

Cause the Walton's don't give af. Most of them don't even live in Arkansas and only 2 are alums.

JB Hunt and Uncle Jerry have been good spenders.

They are more interested in art and bike trails.
But the basketball arena is still named after a Walton. We do have Walmart.com on our football stadium

Honestly? They have other fish to fry, such as their economic development plans for Arkansas and other areas and their funding of charter schools in areas that aren't inherently hostile to that idea.
I imagine that they quietly donate a bit here and there to the University of Arkansas but the Waltons are notorious for keeping much of their charitable donations on the down low.
Where you do see donations coming from are the growing number of millionaires in NW Arkansas who have made their fortune through Walmart and are U of A graduates.
Arkansas has a fairly well off donor base. It is just that our donors prefer to donate to something other then sports programs.

I sure do see a lot of videos of nice new sports facilities at Arky. Might not be them but some donors have really stepped up and that stadium looks nice on tv too.

You got a 120 million donation in 2017 to establish an art school. I'm not saying it was money wisely spent but don't act like the Waltons haven't been generous over the years to UA. Just google how much they donate to the UA if you need proof. Meanwhile, schools like UCA get chicken feed from them even though the people in that area spend just as much of their money in Walmarts as people in NWA do.

Surely the giant Walmart signs in their stadium are generating some revenue.

Arkansas alumni know how much they spent. I think his point was they focus more on the school than the athletic program, which is fine imo.

Didn't a Walton give a huge donation to Mizzou?

Yeah I realize that, and Alice has expectations that the art school performs at an Ivy League level for some reason, but that doesn't have anything to do with them donating to athletics.
The new natural park in Bentonville that the Walton Family Foundation is funding looks pretty cool. And of course the new Walmart campus is just ridiculous. They definitely do a lot for the area even if the residents don't always agree what they spend money on.

Our problem isn't money, it is who we have spending that money. We will see how our new AD does with it after Chad's time is up. (Looking more and more like this year) I believe he did a really nice job in the basketball search so I'm looking forward to him getting a chance with the football hire.
