Home field advantage is directly tied to how good a team is

does anyone here really think Oregon's home field is that intimidating to an SEC or a BIG XII team? But Oregon finally starts recruiting well and fielding good teams and lo and behold their home field becomes the ultimate advantage

Think Boise State's lil stadium and their claim of home field advantage

good teams wins at home and on the road bad teams lose at home and on the road

At least we're 1-1 in National Championship Games vs the Red Pachyderms.

LSU will beat Bama in BR this year because we are better......plain and simple

Time to "Restore the previous order before it was disrupted in an orderly fashion yet to be restored again in 2012"

I think it's fair to say that Bama has had a storied history. History changes in Tiger stadium this year. LSU wins but by only 2 touchdowns because this tiger team is going to be too focused on the overall goal, not on revenge.

You really can't be serious

You mean Tide never recovered from blowing a 24 point lead at home? This is childish.

Meh. Most normal LSU fans have already moved on. Hell, I moved on around the 3rd quarter on 1/9. We were playing with a stacked deck, against the law of averages and against a team that had nothing to lose. If we beat Bama that day the talk would've been y'all didn't deserve to be there. As for making something up, win it all this year or next and no one even remembers 1/9.

Why wo
quote:

Does anyone have an explanation for LSU's lack of a home field advantage against Bama?

Does anyone have an explanation for LSU being .500 at BDS All-Time since 1902?

LSU is 10-10 All-Time at BDS since 1902.

Does anyone have an explanation for LSU being 7-4 at BDS since 1988?

Ya think Bama's record at BDS is a lot better than that against everyone else?

See.....the road team wins at the other's home stadium a lot in this series. We both can play this game, so why start this thread?.

Because though Tide fans are actually pretty knowledgeable, the Updyke types, being more shrill, have earned the fanbase a less than glowing reputation.

I just don't see any position (group) where I would give a decided advantage to either team except for the punter

I'll list my advantages at each position AS OF RIGHT NOW: (this could all change)

QB - adv Bama (I know Mett is the second coming of the Savior to most on here, but I need to see him, he might not be able to dissect and break down a weak side pressure and zone disguise like J.Lee and force INTs, we honestly have no idea yet, Bama has a NC winning QB)
RB- adv LSU
WR - Push (we both replacing starters at WR, LSU's new QB makes this a push since he will need time to get acquainted etc)
OL - adv Bama
TE - Push (both replacing guys, Bama has recruited the position better, but won't know until I see both)

Defense

DL - adv LSU (this could change pretty quickly, Bama's is sick, but a few new starters, so does LSU but more experienced guys gives them the advantage)
LB - adv Bama
CB - adv LSU (considered a push with new starters on LSU but they are talented, but Bama has a lot of guys looking to prove and a electric JuCo guy, but I gotta see to say we have an advantage)
S - adv LSU (Greg Reid is a monster, Vinnie "The Hitman" Sunseri will be good for Bama, but LSU is still better in my mind)
ST - adv LSU (no explanation needed)

Yep. Does anyone really care Tide lost to Utah or blew a 24 point lead at home? Not really, success cures all.

And McCarron was some 4 year starter? Please.

Please what, he is a new starter for LSU, McCarron is not, if he was Andrew Luck caliber he would've started at UGA, I NEED to see him against live bullets

The difference is UA with Greg McElroy. UA knew it could be contending for titles with a game manager style QB, and that is all that was asked of McCarron. The same can't be said for Mettsiah. John Elway or bust...

I agree you gotta give the nod to the guy with the experience in AJ for now. Mett has the tools to be better than AJ. We'll see how far along he is in the mental part and the intangibles in a few months. I fully expect Mett to be considered a better QB by end of the season though.

A lot of you Bama folks are setting us up if Mett fails miserably.......most logical LSU fans don't think Mett is a Savior or Messiah

BUT

We sure as hell believe he will be better than what we've had the last 4 years! Of course this will make a fanbase excited seeing that IF we would have had a servicable QB last year.....the 1/9 debacle could have been avoided.

He can be for sure. However, the expectation is that the "4 years of suffering" is over. JJ is finally gone and the ball is going to be slung around like a hot potato..
