Why are Tennessee fans so upset?
People are arguing all sorts of points in other threads, but clearly, objectively- there is no reason that LSU is currently ranked #6 with 2 losses, other than the fact that they could win the SEC if they win out.
They are ahead of several 1-loss teams that could also win conferences (and are favored to); Clemson/UNC, USC.
They are behind several undefeated teams, at least 1 who will lose (Ohio State/Michigan) before the conference championships.
If everything plays out, #2 Ohio State will play an unranked team in the Big 10. #3 TCU will play a rematch against someone they already beat once in the Big 12. #1 UGA will play #5 LSU in the SEC. And #4 Tennessee will be sitting at home, watching TV and hoping they don't get hosed.
Objectively, it looks like the committee will consider the SEC championship as a play-in game. You can't tell me that #5 beats #1 on selection day, then still misses out. Rankings, school names etc be damned, they have set it up to work that way.
