How will Kirby future proof the program where Dabo and kind of Meyer seemed to just dip for some random reason?

Certainly one glaring weakness of Clemson I noticed is whenever a Deshaun, Tahj or Lawrence wasn’t present, they were competitive but man….they looked like TAMU Bama 2022.

Thoughts?

The biggest thing will be keeping the offense humming. Since Kirby is defensive minded, that will require a strong OC and at least pretty good QB play. I think we can trust that the defense and overall recruiting will be elite for the foreseeable future.

Dabo is overrated as all hell and has barely been on Richt's level without an elite all-timer of a QB. Meyer mostly won with a unique (at the time) offensive system and skill players that were simply better than most everyone else. Once his talent dipped slightly and he wasn't a knew thing anymore, he was pretty average (I'm talking about at UF here).

Kirby doesn't fit all of that. He's won two national titles wiht a walkon at QB that people laughed at for most of his career until he started beating everyone. Kirby wins with defense and doesn't need a 1st round QB to do well. He also shows no signs of slowing down with recruiting and we should have a top 5 class as long as he's here, with most years being in the top 3. HE also isn't going to get scared and quit the next time saban beats him.

What Pittman needs to do is to hire more Georgia assistants.

No guarantee a new coordinator is going to fit/perform but given how thorough Kirbs is, the succession plan is probably well fleshed out.

Hopefully incorporates a broader pool of internal/external candidates.

Tahj Boyd sucked, and that wasn't Dabo, that was Bowden.

Nick Saban has been right there or on top in recruiting. But he has been falling off the radar with getting the right OC and DC. Those two are what is killing him, but I believe age is the biggest reason for the decline of the team against Kelly at LSU and Heupel at Tennessee. Those two were Alabama only losses. Kirby had no problem beating Tennessee. I am not sure what went wrong with Alabama. We will all find out this year if he is back on top or not. Alabama might end up with similar record from last year or worst.

I am just tickled pink to win two back to back.

This year was icing on the cake. Next year, if we do well, it is a desert bourbon (was going to say wine, but I like bourbon better.)

Seriously, I want UGA to keep doing well, but I sure am glad we got these wins before NIL stunk up the whole sport. I used to plan my falls around UGA football. Not now. I am content, but will still enjoy the games when I can.

We appreciate your concern. I think it boils down to coaching ability, work ethic, and ability to choose good staff members and willingness to delegate authority to them. Kirby, like Nick, has all of that. He's no Dabo or Meyer.

Red wine is healthy, and bourbon isn't.

The Danger for UGA would be a Monken or a Monken grade OC leaving and missing on the next OC hire.

Kirby isn’t going to have the top overall class every year. But he is going to have the best or one of the best defensive classes year after year. He’s recruited and developed better there than anybody in broad strokes there in his short time at Georgia.

UGA has also recruited and developed OL very well.

We were recruiting RB at an elite level but that has tailed off some and they haven’t had what AL, OSU, and Clemson have had at the QB and WR position. No problem acknowledging that.

Kirby needs an independent minded creative OC.

Lol, laughable take about Urban. He won 3 titles all with separate QBs, he was super passionate about special teams which were always making game changing plays. He routinely had elite defenses. He was a CEO to the max. He went 14-0 with Utah. Won at UF, Won at Ohio State.

Urban’s downfall was his own mental instability and allowing toxic workplace cultures to bring everything down.

A friend of mine who lives in Jacksonville, and who is a diehard Gator fan, told me that Florida was very fortunate that the NCAA didn't bother to take a closer look at Urban's tenure in Gainesville after he headed out.

Meanwhile, Kirby do will fine as long as he continues to prepare players to be NFL ready.

For example, Georgia does a very good job at training linebackers to be fully aware of what is required to play at every position in a typical pro defense.

Just keep stacking top 4 classes.
