and Gus was 1-14 on the road again LSU, UGA, and bama. He averaged 4 losses a year. That's not important though.
He was actually 0-13 against them away from Jordan Hare. If you can't manage one win in eight seasons then it ain't getting any better and several of those losses were fireable offenses with how the games played out. Like blowing a 20-0 lead to an LSU team that lost to Troy. Or not getting a single first down in the second half against a Georgia team that lost at home to Vanderbilt. You guys know what Troy, Vandy, Georgia Tech, and Tennessee all have in common? They all won games at either LSU or UGA while Gus Malzahn was coaching for Auburn.

don't give a shite about any of that. I'm just telling y'all why your main targets turned you down.
Must be humiliating.

This is one of the main reasons Gus is not the coach anymore.
If Harsin goes 0 for 13, he will be shown the door as well.
All of these highly paid coaches in the SEC eventually have to win something or they will be gone.

Interesting perspective from a guy who supports a team that hired a career position coach as their head coach. You seem knowledgeable and well informed.

I am always fascinated when some people aren't happy enough just being a moron....they insist on flaunting it.

Oh, but they did make a good hire. I am very, very pleased with this hire. We will all have to wait and see, but I love this hire!

That's not a bad record. You're not Bama!

Yeah, I'm not going to be lectured by Arkansas fans, of all people on the quality of a HC hire.

I'll admit one thing I'm going to miss about Gus is the yearly beat down of arkie and his post Super Bowl celebration of that win. I expect the wins to be the same, but I'll miss him acting like the game matters.

Why is the board flooded with Ark and Ms State fans over auburns new hire?
We are not your rivals and we always beat you. Why do you care?

So what’s the reason Arky hired a position coach and went 3-7 again?

You realize that Arky had not won a single SEC game the season before and they won 3 (should have been 4) games this year, right?
Granted a lot of people felt they made a poor hire (like a lot of people feel about Auburn's hire) but by any metric Pittman has been a great hire to this point.

You realize that historically auburn wins 63% of their games. Averaging 8 to 9 wins a season is what auburn football has always been. A few good years, a few mediocre years and a few bad years. Rinse and repeat.

Gus never beat any of those teams outside of Jordan Hare. He was 0-13.

So why continue paying a guy a top 10 salary for historically average?

Because they see a chance you fall below them in the pecking order with your hire. Haven't figured that out yet?
