Had something to do with Benjamins.

He was pitched a style of offense in his recruitment that never came to be.

Jamie Newman left, JT Daniels had surgery Jan 2020, and D'Wan Mathis couldn't hold his water.

A good OC designs the offense to his QBs strengths. And when Stetson took over the permanent duties in 2021, Burton was looking for a different offensive style that highlights wide receivers.

Burton is an excellent route runner. That is the extent of his excellence. Not + speed, height, hands, or physicality. He isn't afraid of being physical, but it never translated to success at the college level.

McConkey is better than Burton because of the + speed (and also being a + route runner). He can do more at a high level than Burton.

I like it just the way it is. Some people will be tempted to see what's on the other side of the fence.

BUT..As many are finding out, the grass is USUALLY NEVER GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE.

I want people that want to be on my team for the right reasons.

Every school with the exception of BAMA and UGA know that the transfers in are not there simply to ride coat tails. A$M is finding out MOST of the people that went there did it for the Benjamins only.

No way you put limitations on in conf transfers. Let people do what they think is best for them. AND LIVE WITH THE CONSEQUENCES GOOD, BAD OR INDIFFERENT.

Not that I particularly care for the intraconferance transfers but I think it would be sued into oblivion if it was ever tried. It would be putting artificially limiting compensation without the players being part of a union and thus illegal.

Think any of them are rethinking their decisions?

I honestly don’t think transferring vs not transferring makes a big difference for this group. Burton and To’oto’o are decent to solid college players, but not the studs you might think based on their recruiting rankings. Playing at UGA, Tennessee, or Bammer doesn’t change that.

Ricks is a good player with an NFL future, but his attitude was going to be an issue whether he stayed at LSU or went to Bammer.

Burton was a top 100 player (15th best ranked WR in his class)

Pretty good.

It’s almost like none of y’all remember why they left. Two of them left a dumpster fire and one of them left for a better offense. Turns out he’s not that good. Too many of y’all don’t realize most of these kids don’t give a shite about their school. They want to get to the nfl

You’re implying that the others schools transfers were undesired but YOUR transfers were somehow different.

I’m implying that the guys this staff chose to recruit were desired by not only their new team but the old team as well.

Just like Boutte was recruited like hell to stay at LSU, like how Gibbs and Steen were recruited to come back.

Burton and Ricks, despite immense talent, weren’t really fought for from what the inner circles are saying. There is a difference.

Couldn’t have happened to better people than Burton and ToTo.

Joe Foucha and Greg Brooks are from LA and transferred to LSU. To,oto'o, Burton and Ricks are from California and transferred to Alabama. You don't see a difference?

And all of the other transfers? Did you exclusively take people from Louisiana in the portal?

No, but the 3 players that transferred from other SEC schools were all LA kids.
