Thracken as usual nails it.

to be quite honest, the perception of other fanbases opinions on us have little impact on me at all. personally I do not know any of you, and were on a forum to chat - your opinions, while certainly valid in your perspective, in no way make me not sleep at night.

The cool thing about this Auburn situation though, I don't think we've been given a PLOI.

Those come far after the investigation starts. The NCAA knows the answers to the questions they put in the PLOI, most often times. If Auburn recieves that, it will be late in this year or even next year before it happens probably.

They've grown new ones to replace them haven't they?
probably not.. the horticulture dept. is closing their doors as we speak.. why even try?

I'd swore I read somewhere they've been growing replacement trees for them..

I do hope you are telling the truth when you say you can grow thick skin.
If I was immature and didn't have thick skin I would be making my own flame threads instead. TD is not that important to me so if the stupidity (Auburn fans included) gets any worse I will just leave.

I'm sure they have a backup plan.. and i'm sure you probably know more than i do about it

For the Auburn fans' sake, I hope you haven't. But, given the secrecy and "no comments" from the athletic department recently, there could be one and the public hasn't been informed.

The nation has moved on and no one cares. Everyone knows that Cam got paid. He played for Auburn one year and left for the NFL. Fairley left just as quickly. Now, we're hearing Auburn has been paying other players.
Auburn fans don't even seem as excited as other fanbases have been. A championship is good, but when you have no shot at even being good next year, it seems kind of hollow.
I think that the national perception is that Auburn cheated to get the championship but were smart enough to not get caught - yet. The hammer will fall OR they won't be able to cheat like this again. Either way, they are not a consistent player on the national scene. That seems tonbe how Auburn is perceived, 4 days after winning the title.
Am I wrong here?
Yeah, you're wrong, but you're stupid so nobody really cares, they expect it.

They aren't cutting the trees down, they are replacing them because all the TP and power washing has started to kill them. Replacements have been in the works for years.

then why bother trying to convince us you don't care?

Someone on here said that it wasnt because of the water and TP, but because the tree is enclosed by too much concrete, and the roots are incapable of growing properly.

ok.. i should have put a smiley.. or said "JK" instead of assuming people would know it's a joke..
Before another panty gets wadded.. TOOMER'S TREES ARE NOT GOING TO BE CUT DOWN, AT THIS TIME, TO MY KNOWLEDGE. IT WAS A JOKE.

If I lived down there, I'd contract to cut them down when it came time, for free. Whoever does cut them, can take the wood and make a fortune making wooden plaques about Toomer's corner with the wood from it.
