Well no shite, doesn't mean there were a lot of them.
You do know that I-40 at the TN/NC border got shut down due to snow? That's the main travel route and many fans actually got trapped. Those who weren't trapped had to use I-26 (I believe it was 26) and even that was rather harrowing. Parts of E. TN got over a foot of snow and that shut down the freaking interstate.

False. UF fans won't even show up for a Sugar Bowl appearance.

But I thought the snow SC got shouldn't have been considered a factor?

Why wouldn't it be a factor?

1. Not sure where you're getting that.
2. However, I do think the COLD was a far larger factor than any snowfall for those in South Carolina - the accumulations for E. TN vs. SC were very different - but the freeze your arse off cold was the same.

"Hey it snowed this morning. Want to go sit in metal stands tonight for a game starting at 7:30?"
The snow deterred people from coming at the start. The cold caused others to leave early. We just aren't used to that kind of weather during football games.

Wasn't expecting this thread to still be alive..
It might have come off as a flame but it wasn't really my intention. I was genuinely surprised by the lack of fans.
Yes, I know it was cold. Trust me, I spent 4 hours sitting on the interstate due to snowfall.. took me a total of 10 hours to make it to the game. I also realize it wasn't a great matchup.. but I would have expected more people there than that.. even with both of those considered.

The stadium was virtually full in the first quarter, half-time was the mass exodus where people went into the tunnels to get a break from the cold and decided not to come back. They missed a hell of a game.

It was an embarrassing turnout. No way around that. However I just can't blame the folks who didn't go/left early.
I can call them pussies, because I stayed until the end. But that's about it.

It was cold for sure, I was in the upper deck. I would just have a hard time ever leaving a good game due to being cold.. it wasn't unbearably cold or anything.
Some might say I'm crazy or a dumb arse though.

Idk I always thought USC had the most loyal fans. At least that's what most said

You think people leaving in the cold means they stopped being fans?

That's why I was surprised.
I need to go back when the weather isn't so poor.

We sell out every home game during a 1-21 stretch and fill the stadium, but one bad attendance game on the day of the earliest recorded snowfall in South Carolina history and we aren't loyal.

During a shoot out conference game?
Ummm, yeah

A game that literally meant nothing.
It might have meant a lot to Tennessee, but not us. Sorry, but we're having the same argument that would be reversed if it were ten years ago.
