To hear their fans talk, they are a perennial powerhouse. Silly me, I just always assumed that they were Texas's bitch.

Not in most of our lifetimes...
They won the Big12 one time about 20 years ago.

One year, they were 6 points away from being unbeaten in the regular season. They finished that year with 4 losses.

I don't play the game, broseph, I just watch it from the stands. What happens Saturday is up to the players and the simple fact is, Bama's players are just better.

At least as relevant as Bama fans are to the mobile home dealers in their home towns.

Didn't Bear Bryant coach there?

You're welcome. If only all Texas A&M fans would admit that their team is shitty.

Well, they were once coached by this guy named after an animal.
But other than that in the last 60 or so years, no they have not really achieved much of anything.
But they have always filled their stadium, which is more than their companion school in Austin can say. (Up until the Mack Brown era, Texas was notorious for having empty seats in Memorial Stadium)

Yeah, but their players were pansies back then too. They couldn't handle the greatness of the Bear.

Naw just more talented. Bear never coached a Heisman winner anywhere other than Aggieland.

Maybe the best response to smack-talk in the history of responses to smack-talk. Well done.

So... what you're saying is, A&M was last relevant in 1957?

Most Ags would admit that the last 15 years have been bad/mediocre peppered with mild success. The 90's were pretty damn good, but we still came a play or two away from being with the elite.
Like it or not, the situation and our brand have changed for the better. We are in the best conference right smack in the middle of some of the best recruiting grounds in the nation. Success in CFB has always come down to a combination of recruiting, coaching, facilities, and money. Well on the surface it appears that we have gained significant ground in all of those categories. If we can put those recently found advantages together, we will be elite for a long time.
Honest question, besides a better history of success, what does the likes of Bama, LSU, or Florida have that A&M doesn't? Coaching? First year under a new system is looking pretty good. Recruiting? Top ten last year and this year, next year is shaping up well. Facilities? Plans for Kyle are in the works and the budget is being approved. Money? Yeah, we're doing ok there too.
