Because its not about the end of the season. 9 games ago Mullen was on the hot seat and the fans couldn't wait to get rid of him. Now he is beloved.

You lose 3 dlineman. You lose 3 olineman , you lose 3 in your secondary. I'm familiar with your team. A program like miss st is good when they return starters (which you did this year) because you don't recruit well enough to just reload. Its not that your 1's next year won't be good but what separates the good and bad teams in the sec is depth. And you will be losing a ton of it. Again, you are having a great season but woth the way miss st recruits it's just not sustainable.

Offense will be better.
Youre fricking crazy. Youre losing almost your entire oline and 2 of your 3 best wrs and your te and back up rb. Good luck

It's not how we recruit. It's how we develop. Most guys starting at any given time are 4-5 year vets. That is why Chris Jones and Nick James aren't "starting" this year. Next year we will have more good redshirt sophomores step into the 2 deep and those guys will rotate to the front. It's about the extra time to develop rather than plugging in an ultra talented freshman. That's what most people don't seem to understand, this isn't even the big year for our really talented players. It will keep growing as long as Mullen is here. There will he down years, but the average will consistently improve.
No. We lose one of our best WR's, and he isn't even on the field right now. We will return 2 of the 3 starters from Saturday and 6 of the seven that caught passes Saturday. We fill in our backup RB's spot with two 4 star RB recruits from last year and 2 years ago.

Really? You are piecing together this turnaround from 3 games left of last year? He lost 3 straight to ranked teams and than won out. Not an unusual season. Hate to break the news to you, but some of your fans were calling for Hudspeth in years 3 and 4 as well on here. Also, not unusual for fans to look for change after more losses than expected.
Sorry but after further review no nationally, but yeah sure in the mind of an MSU fan you bet.

Pinkel had a pretty good turnaround from '12 to '13. Richt's seat was hot after an 0-2 start in 2011, he then rattled off 10 straight.
Lots of dumb AU fans ITT, they just don't understand your question.

Losing roughly 75% of your offensive and defensive starters almost ensures that you will be worse next year.
You count terribly. It's what ignorance does. Just like 4 weeks ago when we were going to suck and get blown out in front of the best LSU defense evAr!!11!11
We bring back 60% of our total defensive snaps(Auburn), which is the lowest percentage we've had all year. We have hovered around 65% returning -- assuming McKinney leaves early. We bring back damn near everything on offense.
But our OL is going to suck because we lose the same number of "starters" that we lost last year. Just like aTm was going to exploit us without Day in the lineup, replaced by a soph. None of those sr OL are projected to drafted NFL futures -- I'm sure they will be impossible to replace.

Based on history he would be qualified to win the SEC Championship. Every coach who has won the SEC Championship since 1992 has won at least 9 games their second year.

And that is the million dollar question. Frankly, I think he would be crazy to leave State, particularly for the dumpster fire that is UF, but stranger things have happened.

As good as MISS st has done this year they will be back to middle of the west next year. Mullin struck at the best possible time. Miss st has an extremely experienced team and lsu and bama are in a rebuilding year.
So what? I don't get this kind of thinking. So, State is killing everyone this year and just because they lose a bunch of seniors NEXT year, then we downplay what they are doing THIS year?
I think that we spend too much time looking at recruiting rankings. Who cares about NEXT year? This is THIS year and so far, Miss. St. just destroyed LSU, A&M, and Auburn.
Maybe their success will not be sustained at this level, but if you are and LSU fan and you are reduced to hoping that they fall off next year so you can beat them, then maybe they have already risen quite a bit.
Good for State. Welcome to the upper tier of the SEC.

And I agree, the question is whether he stays. If we don't offer to give him everything including the kitchen sink I will be livid.

If y'all keep winning, I can't imagine them not opening up the checkbook.

The op was about Mullin running thongs around. All I said was this season was a perfect storm for Miss st. Miss st is always a solid team and they would be far more successful if they weren't in the sec west. As far as upper tier. Not yet.

You could say that Les has completely turned it around from what he inherited from Saban.

Everyone tried to tell you this in the preseason. When Jennings was still the next Cam Newton

If we win the SEC, we are upper tier until we prove otherwise. No team outside of the big6 has successfully done it in over 50 years now -- It would be the greatest accomplishment in the SEC in a damn long time.

IF Dak leaves, you drop instantly, but losing most of your oline doesn't help either. Is what it is......
