I disagree. Immediately after the Tennessee game Chris Todd was reinjured or something, because for that three game losing streak against Arkansas, Kentucky, and LSU he was turrible.

This, he also blew that UGA game with the late interception.

He either threw to the wrong spot or Darvin Adams ran the wrong route. I remember seeing DA WIDE open in the end zone and then realizing Chris Todd had thrown the ball in the complete other direction of DA's cut.

LSU fans tend to judge GM's offense based on how well Auburn played against us in 2009. That just isn't fair. With that Trotter kid last year they would have won 1-2 more games easy.

Art Briles was a high school coach and was successful. He brought a gimicky offense to Houston. Did pretty good there and landed himself a job at Baylor now. Actually had Baylor ranked for a week or two this year. I think Baylor is paying him 2.2 million. Not to bad for high school coach.

Didn't he want Mustain to throw it 50 times a game.

That's the story Nutt and the MSM tried to spin, along with some willing accomplices in the media, in order to make Malzahn look bad. Nutt couldn't stand it that Gus was getting credit for the Hog turnaround from the previous season. Remember, before Gus arrived the Hogs had a losing season. Nutt and the MSM are nothing but a bunch of petty, jealous, pathetic liars. Gus will run or throw based on what he has.

Malzahn adjusts plays & play calling to fit the talent level of his players--this is true. LSU fans only wish Gary Crowton could do the same.

Gerry Faust went from Cincinnati Moeller HS to HC at Notre Dame, IIRC.

He had more of a meteoric crash and fail though.

Malzahn is a good coach. Chiz would be flipping burgers without Cam.

How many head coaches at major div 1 colleges have gone back to being head coaches in high school? I know Auburn had one.

that HS offense will never work once he's a big time HC

I see it putting up huge numbers against mediocre defenses and struggling much more against the elite defenses.

For those who think Leach wasn't a significant upgrade over Spike Dykes:

Dykes: 82-67 .550 WPC
Leach: 84-43 .661 WPC

The difference is pretty stark.

His record from other jobs says different.. Unless Cam was dressed as a different player and hide really well on the other teams and we didn't notice.

Uhh we did a good bit of power running with Ben Tate last year. Last year we were mostly hindered by the fact that Chris Todd sucks balls...

And yet STILL set the single season record for passing TDs at Auburn. Chris Todd was a serviceable college QB, and picked up Malzahn's offense quickly.

You can't argue with people who don't have a clue what they're seeing on the football field. They heard a moron on talk radio call it "gimmicky HS offense", they thought that sounded good, and won't hear otherwise.
