The Federal charges will be related to the intentional misuse of a Federally regulated (EPA) chemical.
Is that so hard to understand?

It's part of our tradition, you fricking retard.
Just because you don't care doesn't mean we're "weird" for doing so.

Well, destruction of private property is a crime. Idk the exact amount, but you're talking about tens of thousands of dollars. You can't just go to Lowe's and buy statue seeds to plant. Or relocate one of the designated "replacement statues" growing on campus.

Well that is between you and the DA.
Everybody know to act right on federal properrty and what happens when you dont.

Has anyone tried to say the thread title five times fast? It's hard.

But at the same time, you can't just replace a full-grown tree in a matter of weeks like you can a statue.
Those of you that just think you can swoop in and put new trees like nothing happen really don't have much perspective on the tradition.

Well then, hang him at high noon.

This is grandstanding by the DA to insure re-election btw.
He will pay a huge fine and prob go to local jail for 90 days.

I'd say an inanimate statue is easier to replace than a living one-hundred-year-plus-old tree.

Actually, if it weren't for the all the concrete surrounding Toomer's, you could replace those trees in a matter of days.

No, but they should be forced to pay for having them replaced. I assume they are insured and can be initially replaced with insurance money. The offender goes to court and is ordered to pay the damages. Force the offender to make monthly payments until the damages are repaid. It may take the person an entire lifetime to pay them off which is an adequate and fair punishment.

Please think it through. They don't immediately become 100-year-old trees that generations of fans have experienced.

The guy in Austin who poisoned Treaty Oak got nine years. I don't think your boy will get that much time but, yeah, he fricking deserves to go to jail.

Legally, the statutes located on the grounds of Bryant Denny Stadium (part of a public entity) are not considered " private property."
Your analogy of buying seeds and statutes is incorrect, and further demonstrates your bias.
I guess you think that farmer's should only insure their crops for the cost of the seeds used for planting, regardless of the "Future Value" of the harvested crop.

How is this 8 pages? I don`t get why AU fans are getting worked up about this AND I don`t get why others are sticking up for the weirdo. AU is going to charge him with everything they can, he`ll prob get 6 months or house arrest. Who cares if he goes to jail? All he was doin when he was free was listening to finebaum, pumpin out lil updykes as if he was creating his own inbred army, and poisoning my oaks. BTW, he`s prob still going to call into finebaum from jail.

Au is not charging him with anything. The DA is charging him on behalf of the state.

He's not my boy nor am I defending what the moron did. If you want to send this guy to prison for ten years, then have it. Then you can sleep better at night knowing that justice was served.

The charges on behalf of the state will be minor compared to the Federal charges.
He would have actually been better off (legally) if he had stolen a bucket truck from Asplundh and cut the trees down.

What I don't understand is why you are giving a hand job to the Feds and the EPA.
