Not completely true. Those relationships get you in the door and if money is equal, those relationships win out. If the money is equal, Lacy will want to play for Kevin smith. So Frank Wilson and his ties to families, coaches, etc... still get ole miss in the door and might mean we just have to match and offer instead of surpass it.

Frank's biggest sell and value to LSU was recruiting New Orleans area kids to stay home and play for the hometown team. That doesn't really work when you are telling those same kids to go play 5 hours away in Oxford.

That LSU fans were happy to watch leave when Lacy to LSU was a done deal?

With Ole Miss apparently paying Lacy $1.5 million plus to stay, I can't imagine anyone is paying that much to pry him away. Kiffin can get a much cheaper option to pair with Berry and be successful in his system.

This is how I used to think, but every time I say that lsu “doesn’t have the money or doesn’t want to spend that kind of money” they end up finding it. And I’ll be the first to admit I didn’t think we could keep up with the old money schools

Now that we know hes staying, we'll have both. The only thing that was certain was Lacy coming.

Now we get both. Thats way better.

He coached at ole miss before he coached at lsu and did a great job getting talent from New Orleans to Oxford. Maybe it's not the 5 star everyone knows about but a guy like Mike Wallace that a hs coach Frank Wilson has a great relationship with tells him this kid is being overlooked.

Post by you. If youre gonna alter, it helps to actually fit the role youre trying to fill. Looks like not many people take you seriously anyways.

Nice strawman argument. No one at LSU wanted to lose Berry, whether Lacy was in play or not.

You're confused. You misunderstand - This was the best game of the year, and it got BK fired, and Lane in.

I know this sounds crazy, but maybe both teams will be just fine next year? Mizzou lost Lacy and replaced him with the nations leading rusher. Both Mizzou and Ole Miss came out ahead. Berry is a great back, so is Lacy.

Now if LSU also gets Lacy I might melt, but spending $2.5 mil on an RB room sounds crazy unless Lane is planning to roll out the triple option next year

yall are giving Wilson far too much credit.

He isn’t the only person with Nola ties, and his ability to recruit Nola kids, which was already overstated, takes a big hit when he’s not wearing those three letters in purple and gold.

The way LSUs boosters have completely aligned behind Lane, this would not surprise me at all.
