Why do people keep repeating this bullshite? I've heard it all day on sports radio and TV. Have any of these talking heads bothered to look at the actual numbers? If so, they would see that the same team wins both games the majority of the time. In the SEC, the same two teams have played 7 times and the same team won 6 of those matchups. I can attest that AU has done it twice. In 2004, they beat UT twice and in 2010 they beat USCe twice.

Please stop repeating this old wives tale. It's almost as annoying as "never swim on a full stomach" or that cold weather will give you a cold.

Except Auburn couldn’t even beat Ed Orgeron’s LSU Tigers once

It is an issue if the team that won the first game is only good, not great.

Great teams in HS, College and Pro always win the 2nd game. Good teams sometimes lose it. LSU 2011 comes to mind.

We know uga isn't great. No great team in history gets beat by 17.

Auburn may or may not be great...an argument could be made we are only good with 2 loses even if they are only be a single score on the road to ranked teams.

We will know after Saturday if Auburn is good or great.

After beating two #1's I doubt it'll hard to beat Georgia again.

If Mike Dubose can beat Spurrier twice then Auburn should have no problem.

Of the seven rematches in the SEC title game, six have been won by the previous winner. Twice by Auburn in '04 and '10. We lost twice to UF in '00

That’s OK. That Auburn loss seems to have catapulted this team, both coaches and players, and elevated the overall player.

Reminds me of 2013...

AU might have to beat BOTH Georgia and Bama twice this year.

Auburn is the better team, and will win.

LSU got very lucky that Gus had a brain fart and decided to let off the gas.

There will be no letting off the gas in Atlanta, and Georgia will do what they always do; lose on the most important game of the year.

Why do people keep repeating this bullshite?

There's an assumption that revenge will cause the losing team to play harder in the rematch. It might be true to some extent. Auburn was fortunate to play it's 2 biggest rival games in Jordan-Hare Stadium where it has a decided home field advantage. I expect the rematch to be a closer contest but to be honest Auburn is better in the trenches on both sides of the ball and has a more innovative offense.

It will take a remarkable offensive and defensive game plan for Georgia to win this game. We are out matched in the trenches and playing a true Freshman QB with 2 Freshman on the right side of our OL. Meanwhile, Auburn for the 3rd time was very shrewd in picking up an excellent experienced QB who was a cast off from another team. We have seen this picture before with Cam Newton and Nick Marshall and now Stidham. As such I would not be surprised to see a repeat performance.
