St. Rose Philippine Duchesne- who established the first free school west of the Misssisippi River (St. Charles/St. Louis area) in 1818.

The state of Kansas sucks so much that they put Kansas City in Missouri.

Nice........

I didn't realize that she's already 52, she's only a little over 2 months younger than Chely. God we're all getting older.

She still looks great.

Well documented with a picture and journal entry in my family ... my great great grandfather paddle-wheeled the Mississippi, out of Memphis, with him ... but that's another story.

Everyone in my family has the picture on their mantels.

My Grandfather's Father. Matter of fact there is even a reference in his writings ... to-do with the Fort Pillow Massacre and NBF's Revenge.

I grew up watching Walter and never knew of him injecting any politics into his newscasts. I’ve googled him and the only thing I could find was his objection to the Vietnam war because the USA showed no signs of wanting to win it. But hell, we were all pissed about that because kids and parents were dying over there for nothing and I was fixing to become draft age.

He was well respected as a newscaster. I never studied his personal life. And I still don’t care. He was a good man and a part of my life growing up. But that’s my opinion, if someone wants to trash him then so be it.

These days suck….hate every damn where.

It was all marketing. You should be a little pissed at him, because he helped turn public opinion against the war when he lied about the Tet Offensive. The politicians took over guiding the war, and resulted in our soldiers becoming casualties because we wouldn't conduct the war in a normal way.

I don't hate him in any way, nor am I trying to trash him. I don't think a man should be lionized for misleading Americans for decades. We each have our opinion, but if you re-read what you and I typed here, you essentially said "why do you have to speak your opinion?"
