Oh yeah

About a minute long. And don't ever try to watch the main WatchESPN broadcast during a big game. It will buffer into nonexistence

I thought that Tupac was dead until I saw that halftime show last night.

I expected to kind of like it because even tho I’m old I still enjoy some new stuff. Plus he’s hugely popular and I have young loved ones who think he’s great but those songs didn’t do it for me, so either I need to listen some more or he’s just not my type,

Not much of a rap fan but these threads always make me laugh. A bunch of old white guys trying so hard to trash the genre without dropping a few N-bombs

An old white lady on my Facebook feed dropped it last night, and all hell broke loose. Looks like she deleted her account this morning.

Rap isn't any more or less intrinsically shallow than disco, teen pop and bro country. All are incredibly easy to trash if you don't care for them.

Let's be honest, for many here the only real difference between Kendrick Lamar and One Direction is that one is black and heavily influences a culture they despise.

It's weird. It's fine if you didn't like it. Smart people chose not to watch.

The people who got personally offended that he was performing are crazy

Speaking of N, NWA now they’re the tits.

Which is why I like some stuff these days, some new sound similar to old.

I will never like that awwwwwwwwah sound of the fake vocal stuff - whatever that’s called,

There's nothing crazy about it

There's a reason why the same people said nothing about Zac Brown twanging up the national anthem last night.

All suck, but you won't hear about it from most here. The fact remains this isn't about an artist or a genre producing bad music.

For many people rappers like Kendrick Lamar bring to mind Obama, BLM, "SJW", judicial activism, "thugs" and yes, uppity black people. To them he represents not just music they hate but the aspects of society they feel threatened by.

That's what these threads are about, not music

I remember one of the first threads about him doing the halftime show was about him being a BLM activist and if he would reference Trump at all

It's nothing but good old fashioned bigotry and paranoia.

Again, I find rap largely unappealing but acknowledge it's wildly popular and don't worry about why. There's a lot of genres I don't care for. Many bitching about it were at the disco clubs sporting bell-bottoms and a perm in the 70s.
