Good for him he’s old

You owe him thanks though for pushing the vaccine thru government hurdles

Now you and your partner can enjoy a night out without being terrified of a virus that kills almost nobody in middle to young age brackets

Vaccinated people are absolutely not getting sick with the Delta Variant.

you are so full of shite. There was a Dr. on one of the news channels the other day who has been fully vaccinated and got the new strain. The first one missed him. Please stop talking about things you know very little about.

People who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 are still getting infected with the delta variant, but global health officials said the shots have protected most people from getting severely sick or dying.

We know that vaccines are incredibly good at preventing people from becoming ill with the virus and getting clinical COVID-19. We also know that if they do become infected, and maybe not even have symptoms, or have mild symptoms, that they're probably less likely to transmit it. So, vaccines are also good at reducing transmission. I don't want to undersell the vaccines here.

I would love to hear what the anti-vaxxers think of the clear correlation between states with low education and low vaccination rates. Do you think that is simply a coincidence?

They think it’s because they didn’t go to liberal universities to get brainwashed and are actually smarter than those with the formal education.

Statistical analysis and study > human interest stories of one person

Less than 5% of hospitalizations last 2 months have been among the vaccinated. Less than 1% of deaths in the last 2 months have been vaccinated. The only group of vaccinated people from the studies in Israel that had any semi-serious rate of infection with those who encountered HEAVY LOADS of virus - mainly health care workers.

If you are vaccinated your risk of getting a serious case of COVID-19 is almost statistically 0%. It's less than about 150 other things that could create a life threating or even non-life threatening but uncomfortable health situation.

quote:

What does the Delta variant mean for the vaccinated?

Scientists are looking at how the Delta variant can cause breakthrough cases, or infections among people who are fully vaccinated. So far, they seem to be rare.

quote:

In a preliminary analysis, two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine appeared to be about 88% effective against disease and 96% effective against hospitalization with the Delta variant, according to Public Health England.

The bottom line is get vaccinated, because none of those risk deflaters above apply to you if you aren't vaccinated.

Yes, this is all media driven to cause world wide panic.

I really thought you had more intelligence than this. I really did. Ignore the experts who deal with this on a daily basis. Keep your head in the sand. Hopefully this doesn't cause a tragic outcome with somebody close to you. If it already has..............you sir, are a moron.

But it's not selfish for those people to force others to do things for their health?

That selfish claim usually works both ways in my experience.

At any rate, if the vaccine works, then what does it matter? Why don't people act like this over the flu vaccine every year?

For like 40+ years now you get the flu shot if you want it, don't if you don't. Never a problem.

Suddenly, you have to get this shot, and the reason is because the shot..isn't working for the other person?

A little quick local story, where the Delta variant
has been surging for weeks in a low vaccinated
area : From June 23 to July 4th, 17 deaths due to
the virus were reported by a local hospital, of which 2 wards have been set aside to deal with covid patients---of those deaths, 15 were not vaccinated; on one, the status could not be confirmed either way and the other had received the first shot months ago but did not bother to get the second. That number falls in line with what is being reported national. So, believe what you will.

I'm honestly not sure what you are arguing here or what you think I'm saying. What do you think we should be doing right now that we aren't?

I'm not blaming any media - what? I have lost some people close to me, I believe we even discussed it back in late Spring 2020. I want everyone I know to get vaccinated. I want them to approve the vaccine for kids so they can get vaccinated.

I dunno what I'm missing here? What am I a moron about, exactly? Because I oppose shutting things down again?

Believe it or not, I as well as many others, would rather not get covid from some antivaxxer loon if I don’t have to.. even after being vaccinated and being fairly safe from serious immediate complications.

So what's the solution here?

I mean yea, I'd prefer everyone get the vaccine. This would end. I don't rule the land by decree, though.

I’m not an anti-vaxxer. I get a flu shot every year.

I’m anti-covid vaxxer (for the time being) because it’s been 18 months since the virus and shot were all unleashed, and I’d like to give it more time. There’s also been a massive, suspicious media/govt/big business push to get this vaccine.

So I’ll “risk” the crowds, just like I’ve done for 18 months. Y’all can stay home.
