The older people can go get a vaccine right this minute if they want it. If they decide they don't want it then they assume those risks. We shouldn't shut down the country because Grandpa Billy refuses the shot because he thinks Pfizer put mini-robots in his vaccine but also doesn't want to die.

Your boy Trump was also at the front of the line to get it. But then as soon as he loses the election, his cult deems it bad.

Unfortunately with the Delta variant, we are seeing more and more young and healthy people having significant sequelae.

Damn the facts. I have learned through this that people are going to spin it towards whatever their agenda is.

The only agenda here is not seeing people sick and dying.

If the variants or the disease concerns people they should GET VACCINATED. If they don't trust the vaccine then they should wear masks and stay away from people.

I'm not really sure what those who are scared of the disease but also refuse to get vaccinated want the rest of the world to do? Shut down everything every few months?

SoG, you just aren't getting it. People who have been vaccinated are getting this strain because it is a lot more contagious. The only way to wipe this out is for the vast majority of the world to get vaccinated. Scientist have been saying this for months and some people will just not listen.

No one is suggesting we shut down the world. The problem is that there is a segment of the population (children under 12, those with current or prior health conditions such as Guillain-Barre) who can not get the vaccine. Are we going to tell them they have to stay home forever because others refuse to get the vaccine?

The problem with the new variant........people who have been vaccinated are getting the new strain. Apparently it is more contagious than the last. I don't understand why everybody doesn't get vaccinated? It is free. I had my two shots at Walmart. I may have spent 45 minutes combined on the two trips.

As these things mutate, they generally get more contagious, but less deadly.

Vaccinated people are absolutely not getting sick with the Delta Variant. The hospitalizations are 97%+ unvaccinated people. Over 99% of COVID deaths in June and July were unvaccinated people.

In overwhelming numbers the vaccinated people getting the new strain get a very weak version of it.

So no school/sports/activities for anyone under 12, and anyone with a specified prior or current health condition has to be a hermit. Brilliant!

Children will be offered the vaccine by September or October at the latest assuming all goes well per doctors from Emory and CDC employees who are in our elementary school circle. They said that timeline is pretty set in stone if everything stays on schedule.

As for those who have health issues that prevent the vaccine....what would you suggest? People lived in this would with auto-immune issues before COVID. It sucked, they had to take way more precautions, it was a shitty life......but at some point what are we supposed to do?

It's funny, you go to TexAgs and forum 16 calls anyone who gets the shot a "sheep". Go to forum 84 and anyone who doesn't get the shot is an idiot.

Nobody should ever be forced to get the shot. If you don't want it for a personal reason, I get it. I am bored to death by the politics of it all. None of that matters to me. What matters to me is 100% open stadiums, not having to wear a damn mask in the airport/on a plane, and not having to get my brain scraped when I travel internationally in order to get home.

That's why I wish everyone would get the shot as it will ultimately flatline deaths attributed (rightly or wrongly) to this virus. Will the politicians finally stfu about it at that point? No clue, though I would guess most would. Will they ever STFU if deaths creep up during each new variant? That's a for certain no. I would never force anyone to put anything into their body they don't want. I just hope most come around because I'm tired of hearing about it.

I love this line of thinking:

“Perfectly healthy 20-40 year old who works out and eats right, you better get your goddamn vaccine so we can protect 90 year old grandma and out of shape people who never work out and eat fast food 3 times a day

Get the shot if you want it, if they don’t, then stop blacklisting them. Let life go on, and stay home if you’re worried, nothing wrong with that.

Yes again 100%

Welcome to reality. You don't force the rest of society to mold around the special needs of a few.

My conditions aren't your problem to work out.
