@LouisianaGov says he hopes to see a full Tiger Stadium for LSU's football season in the fall, but said "that would be a dubious proposition today," given the latest COVID-19 surge #lagov

Don’t give a shite about Covid and haven’t since June of last year. Georgia been open basically whole time

You don't see the Governor of Alabama, Florida or Mississippi being a bitch about this.
Perhaps you people in Louisiana should vote in better leaders.

People who are worried can get the vaccine.

Unfortunately, Georgia is no longer a southern state. It is blue now.

We should attend the games regardless, and if they wont let fans in, start riots . How many more years is this gonna go on? It’s bullshite

Scare tactics to push people to get vaccinated.
If we were to truly follow science, we would all know that these 'variants' are significantly weaker than the original. More easily transmissible? Yes. But also significantly weaker.

There scared it won’t work versus the douche variant

I’m not understanding either I thought that was the point of the vaccine….now you can get vaccinated but still forced to social distance????

Unfortunately, our opinions on this topic don't matter. The NCAA is gonna police this as much or little as they want. The MLB just canceled the Yankees Red Sox game last night, so I think the sports world is still taking it seriously.
At this point, every college student in America has caught covid. I can't see it being a huge issue. I'm sure coaches have been pushing vaccinations unless they want their games canceled.

Georgia has:
- Republican Governor
- Republican Lieutenant Governor
- Republican Attorney General
- Republican Secretary of State
- Republican State School Superintendent
- Republican Insurance Commissioner
- Republican Agriculture Commissioner
- Republican state senate (32 to 22)
- Republican state house (103 to 77)
The people making decisions for the state aren't close to blue. And they matter the most to me. And most of Georgia's republicans are common sense folks who make good, well thought out decisions and don't run around trying to get as much time as possible on Fox News or Newsmax.

Thank God there is still hope. Unfortunately on the national level Georgia effected the whole lot of us.

I don't think so.

Should have run better candidates, because the Republicans ones were garbage, and that matters in close races. Loeffler was absolute garbage and Perdue wasn't a ton better.

quote:This is coming from someone who has been much more cautious regarding COVID than a majority of people who post here: I would be absolutely shocked if there weren't full stadiums on campus and a full season. The COVID situation would have to be far worse than experts predict, and even that probably wouldn't stop it. Home games are so vital to the economies of towns like Tuscaloosa, Auburn, Oxford, etc. that their mayors would do just about anything to avoid seeing cancellations and reduced capacity stadiums for a second year.

And where are these different variants coming from

Same and same
If you are vaccinated this is a non-issue. If you aren't vaccinated that's your call and nobody should be cancelling things for you. You do you but if you go to a game and get COVID and go to the hospital then tough shite. Enough people are vaccinated that there is a ceiling on how much the variants can spread, so there really isn't any reason to change anything at all.
