Both are most likely wrong. It doesn't have to be one of the other. Even if Gus wasn't going to be fired, Arky was a good option to get away from that. That being said, I don't think any posters believed Gus would come here after making the SEC Championship. Seems like even the pro-Gus posters have been consistent.

To be fair, it's only one season. You can't really turn something like a string of losses around with a single win. You have to show consistency to make that claim.

I haven’t been on there in five years, since the last search. I swear my IQ shrinks every second I’m there. I peaked in two nights ago out of curiosity and a thread had blown up because someone suggested this lineup: HC - Lane Kiffin, OC - Mike Norvell, DC - Brent Venables. There were a few holdouts who thought we could do better at OC, but the rest agreed the PTB should “make it happen”. I’m not kidding. It was a serious thread. THAT’S what you’re getting over there. No “inside” info. You’ve been warned.

Frankly i think Gus just pissed on Arky's face to amuse himself.

I don't doubt that Arky was Gus's dream job.....when he was coaching at Shiloh Christian.
He's exceed that at this point in his career.
Only coach from Auburn headed to Fayetteville is Steele to collect his Broyles award.
