This is stupid.

It's not a mercy knee, it's a lets get out of here with a win instead of risking a fumble or other bad play and ending up with a loss knee.

Every Georgia fan would have been pissed off if Kirby had tried for more points and every Alabama fan would have been delighted if Kirby was dumb enough to do so.

why don't you post over there?
I may; I’d been wanting the option to for a long time, but I’m not convinced yet I have the deft touch to slot into conversations with the frequent posters and accomplish anything productive. It’s a pretty close-minded place and not worth my personal aggravation to expose myself to the policeman bullshite a lot of the posters self-assume.

All of this is way more gray area than black-and-white, and UGA posters esp. don’t (no longer?) seem to have that level of intelligence.

I know what I’m getting on tRant. It’s a place to troll and not be too serious. I can get on board with that game. It’s also remarkably self-deprecating in the honest messages that are shared.

Isn't that the point of a mercy knee?

No, a mercy knee is when you are up by 14 and there is no way you can lose a game.

It's called victory formation, not mercy knee formation.

I was responding to the OP.

9/10 on their down makes it sound like he converted 9 out of 10 theirs downs, which is far from true.

Nothing “critical” about Stockton. He played great and is a very likable player imo.

You never know. No one would have ever imagined that Jalen Hurts would have been a more accomplished NFL quarterback than Mac Jones and Tua. Yet both of them are backups and Jalen is a starting QB, Superbowl champion and Superbowl MVP. It's hard to predict these things.
