Alabama had played the toughest schedule going into this weekend according to every SoS metric FEI has.
Beating Kentucky by 4 TDs instead of losing to them also helps.

Tennessee:
The Alabama win is literally your only quality win, and you have 2 losses.
Auburn is your 2nd best win.
Alabama:
4 TD win over Kentucky
4+ TD win over South Carolina
And multiple other wins against above average teams while Tennessee has GT, Arkansas, Auburn.

Our one quality win is a double-digit win over a top-10 team, same as Bama. We both have two losses to ranked teams. The differentiator is that Bama has an additional win over a fringe top-25 team. That doesn't constitute a 7-spot differential in a poll
