maybe so...lots of conspiracy theories getting legs with discoveries like these and it's only going to set us back. It's either incompetence or manipulation of data/procedures? Who the heck knows?

Is there any science suggesting that anything has much impact when not deployed in conjunction with social distancing? I don't think there is. That being said social distancing is not practical and never was, except of course as an individual choice. We wouldn't be in this mess if we hadn't had the massive bailout which temporarily alleviated pressure at the state level to not shut down. Governors would have been run out of town on a rail had the feds not promised to keep people whole financially in huge numbers. They would have, however, had the will to shut down in isolated hot spots and manage the crisis locally but instead we get a massive influx of federal money and governors take the easy road and simply shut down across the board....now we are faced with having spent that money to no end and starting back up OR continuing to send billions to everyone. Had we simply stayed the course and allowed local governments to manage the best they could deaths may have been far greater but economic devastation would have been far less and there is little to no doubt of that.

Regardless of your politics CNN has done plenty to destroy their reputation as a legit news source. Fox news and MSNBC aren't better. They are all entertainment "news" at this point.
They all don't verify sources or attempt to be objective about what they are reporting. CNN is by far the worst at this but their entire business model is "orange man bad" at this point so whatever they get on that front they run with.

I would bet that nearly as many people would die of panic and heart attacks and breathing problems....respirators are very hard to wear for any length of time and if a person has any kind of health problems related to breathing or the circulatory system they can have deadly effects.

I'm farrrrr from a "fAkE NeWS" guys, but CNN's behavior over the last 6 months has been borderline psychotic.
They basically took what Trump accused them of and completely embraced it - and then some. It's all incredibly shallow and ultimatee clickbait nonsense, too, as if it was a deliberate shift in philosophy.

It sure is...even in the south college football is not as big a deal as soccer is in Europe. Europe, especially Germany, would have had major social unrest without some form of soccer...we won't see that even in the south without college football...we are not as "into" it culturally as they are...

I will go even further...we need to forget about the mortality rate also. We need real information that we can use to make personal decisions and we need to get on with life and let the chips fall where they will. I wear a mask in public...but you need to prove that the ones not wearing are to solely blame...not on emotion, but facts. Unless you’re wearing a form fitted respirator...fk off.
The cute cloth 99% of people are wearing aren’t doing much.
My N95 protects me from sick ppl. But if I’m sick and wearing it...your cloth, bandana, or surgical mask isn’t stopping you from getting sick.
Once again, prove it’s ppl with out a mask and not bandana, surgical wearing superiors...like yourself with your nose hanging out or removing to talk to the cashier.
Death rate is declining dramatically, even with CDC admitting the total death count is flawed as they counted thousands of them that weren’t due to covid.
US is testing more than double the rate of the next country. It’s also been proven the same individual getting multiple positive test are a being tallied in total count, even though it’s one individual.

Exactly. I'm pretty sure they've read it online ad naseum to the point where everybody just believes the lie. There is no data available to the public to where you could even quantify how many people are not following the mandates. They read a person that dares question the authorities and assume there's millions of people coughing on food and barn rushing the grocery store without a mask on to make a political point lol it's an alternative reality

My response was, Good hand washing is the #1 way to prevent the spread of diseases...But there are still nasty SOBs that exit the bathroom without ever washing their hands.
I received several downvotes and another guy posted a research article by Jack Gilbert, a microbiologist at Argonne National Laboratory in Illinois stating, The organisms which can grow there have a very low probability of being able to cause an infection.
Most people have 2 opportunities to wash their hands: Kitchen and Restroom/Bathroom. But, I still see people leaving public restrooms (during a pandemic) without washing their hands.

I hate the masks and keep saying I won't wear one. But, I've had to goto a couple places here lately and have had to wear one because of the mandates as well.

So, what you're saying is, it's possible to disagree with mask wearing while still following the mandates and requests of businesses?
The "you're either with us or against us" mob mentality is bull shite. It is possible to disagree with a mandate while also following said mandate.
