What nefarious purpose could there be for university presidents to cancel the tournament if not to control the virus? What does anyone have to gain by cancelling the tournament besides stopping the virus from spreading?

I'm surprised anyone had respect for the NCAA before today anyway.

“I hope the worst thing someone can say about me is that I overreacted”

Pretty solid quote by Sankey, actually

So the players don’t matter?

Two NBA players on the same team now have coronavirus

Makes perfect sense. Get rid of July dead period now since coaches can’t do as much

Do you feel that way regarding the NBA as well?

If a CBB player tested positive, would you just remove the team or player from the tournament?

They could of postponed the conference tourney and have an only players vote knowing it's minus the fans attending. If enough players agree (extra rules would be applied like more tv timeouts etc..) reschedule the conference tourneys, play them, then go from there instead of just throwing your hands up and cancelling it all.

It's what this entire thing is about because that is the society we have become. If he doesn't take action and even 1 person gets sick as a result, he will be attacked constantly for it.

Meanwhile, if he does all this and nothing happens, people won't say a word.

Really sucks that our PC and PR culture has created this kind of shite.

Are they in danger of dying? What is the extent of their symptoms?

I understand if they are contagious they shouldn't be playing. But just saying "they got the virus" doesn't really say much about their situations.

I don't have a problem with postponement but I don' think the decision should be made by players for many reasons. Most of the sports leagues have gone the postponement/suspension route. Its a little more complicated with college athletics though.

Not sure what you mean by this. How would that rule or any extra rules help.

I'm guessing folks that got caught in the Spanish Flu epidemic back in the day would really have appreciated modern efforts.

The players are at risk (debatable on severity at risk) so they should have the right to vote. Not all players would agree to play, but if you have enough players for a team, that's when the extra time outs come in because 1 team may have more players, just an idea to help level the playing field.

They tried to quarantine for that, it didn't work.
