It feels like Cam just forgot, in the heat of the moment, that the cameras are everywhere in the modern NFL. You can't blink without it being GIFed by a sufficiently motivated person on the Internet.
Well the cameras were there in the wake of the SB, and we saw Cam hiding under a hoodie with his lip poked out like my 3 yr old nephew.

There's a contingent of AU fans who are (apparently) shutting out the entire national media and still believe the criticism is just Bammers trolling
Eh it's not many tho

Most of us have an issue with the idea that Cam "quit on his team" or that "guys are going to look at him different". Dude was the major force behind them even being there and he has shown in the past he is a competitor. And of course a bama grad saying it is going to get extra shite because of the rivalry. It would be the same way if Newton was a bama grad and McElroy was AU. That's just what makes the Iron Bowl the Iron Bowl

Like I said earlier he deserves the crap he is getting because he talks a big game and when he loses it's gonna come back on him. But it really feels like the amount of outrage over him is kinda insane. The focus should really be on how much of a beast Von Miller is and how Denver learned big time from their super bowl beat down a few seasons ago to pursue a top notch defense. Cam didn't lose the game, Denver's front 7 won it

I wish I could remember who I heard on the radio last night. Freddie Coleman maybe. One of the more level headed guys, basically saying the same thing. Just wait til his teammates see that on film, they won't appreciate it.

it has nothing to do with the fact that I went to Alabama and he went to Auburn
Surrrrrree...
Because the NYJ backup I'm sure would call out a former Bama player/teammate with the same objectivity.

When Greg can win a Super Bowl he can tell others how to win one. A few more years and he will be selling cars in t-town like most Bama players after they go bust in the NFL.

I am sure they wish he would jump on the ball. I am also sure they wished their RT would have touched a pass rusher. I am sure they also wished Ginn had gone for the endzone instead of running out of bounds. I am sure they wished Tolbert had decided to avoid the tackler instead of plowing him over and fumbling the ball. I am sure they wished Cotchery had caught a damn ball
There's plenty there for them to not appreciate. This one play is not going to have him lose the locker room. That's the part I think is dumb

I think some of the criticism of Cam is valid, but McElroy insinuating that Cam "quit" on the team and that his teammates will view him differently is at best conjecture and at worst saying shite to be controversial.
He's thinking like a quarterback, which is what he's most qualified to do. I mean, I don't agree with him -- given that he was instrumental in getting them to the SB in the first place, I doubt Cam squandered all his teammates' trust and goodwill on a single play, even if that play was done at the worst time imaginable -- but McElroy is talking about the larger issue that's getting mostly lost in all the criticism of Cam himself. He's spelling out why it was worse for Cam to do that than, say, a random OL player. Anyone who has played football understands the subtleties of the QB's role on a team, but a huge percentage of football fans out there never played. I absolutely agree with his point in theory but, as I said, I disagree that the repercussions will be as bad as he's saying in reality.

It wouldn't have mattered if he jumped on the ball or not. They would have something say about him. If Peyton wasn't so old no one would have knew anyone else even played in the game besides Cam.

Why is Greg McElroy even a Panthers fan? Didn't his dad work for the Cowboys?

Add in Ware, good STs, and an awesome coordinating job by Wade Phillips and you are right on point.
It's a damn shame that the focus is on one player who had an otherwise outstanding season.
Denver's defensive performance in the playoffs may be the best of any in a Super Bowl run. Forget that they won in spite of one of the worst offensive productions in Super Bowl history. Simply holding Rothlisberger, Brady, and the regular season MVP to one combined passing TD was nothing short of amazing.
Incredible defensive performance.

You're right, and it has nothing to do with Greg's comments or his qualification to make those comments.

That little sh$t had a glory filled season as a clip board holder before washing out of the league... haha

You fault the man for not diving in and potentially receiving a career ending injury thus negating future multimillion dollar contracts? Smart play on his part, he will continue to get paid and see multiple future ops to win the SB. Carolina wasn't winning that game bc the oline could not block and his wrs couldn't catch a pass to save their lives. Cam carried the offensive load all season no thanks to Mike Shula and his garbage play calling.
