Second is also Hershel.

A very distant third is a tie between Tim Tebow, Archie Manning, and Hershel with schizophrenia when he thought he was somebody else.

For what he accomplished with few accolades, it would have to be Derrick Thomas. His sack total is astronomical. Why go with the obvious.

I thought about Derrick Thomas, but in all honesty he was not the greatest college player ever in the SEC. He had a better pro career than a couple others who were legendary in college (like Manning and Tebow, obviously).

I also thought about Don Hutson and Leroy Jordan, and you could make a case for either, but you'd be hard pressed to convince anyone because Jordan was on defense from an earlier time, and Hutson was a WR from a MUCH earlier time.

Thought about Reggie too, and he may be the right answer. It's hard to compare a player from that position. Same with Hannah or Stephenson.

Archie Manning obviously wouldn't be many people's candidate, but talk to some old timer SEC fans from that era. I know quite a few old Bama fans who will tell you he was greater than Namath or Stabler.

Meh, Holloway is very important in the conference's history but I wouldn't label him among the all-time greats at all.
