Herschel Walker. Hell, he's still an athlete.

Athlete?

I would go with Bo Jackson, Herschel Walker and even Willie Gault.

All three participated and excelled at multiple sports.
Jackson: Baseball/Football Professional at both
Walker:Football/MMA/Bob Sledding(Olympics),Track
Gault:Football and Olympic track

I'm sure there are others, but when I think of athlete I think of multiple sports and excelling at a high level.

Like I said, I am sure there are others. Those just leapt to my mind.

Crap dude, you know he was on the Olympic Bob Sled team, was All-American in college for track and also fought MMA, right?

Two sports many people forget he was in:

Track:

Walker also competed as a sprinter at the University of Georgia, where he was a two-time All-American selection. He was a member of the SEC champion 4 × 100 m relay squad in 1981.[17] He ran the 100 meters in a PR of 10.23 seconds in 1982 and also ran 10.10 seconds wind-assisted. He improved his high school 100-yard dash time of 9.5 to 9.3 seconds. He also competed in the 55-meter dash in 1983, recording a time of 6.11 seconds.[18]

Bob Sled:
While still an active NFL player, Walker competed in the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France, as a member of the United States' bobsleigh team. Originally selected for the four-man team, he eventually competed as the brakeman, or pusher, in the two-man competition.[71][72] Walker and his teammate Brian Shimer placed seventh; see complete results in bobsleigh at the 1992 Winter Olympics.

I had never heard that! I know that was not pointed at me, but I wanted to say thta my bringing up what Walker had done was not meant to slight Bo Jackson. His accomplishments stand on their own.....my only push back was that people seem to forget everything Herschel had done.

In my mind there were no greater athletes than Herschel Walker and Bo Jackson...in any order you want to put them in.
