Talking about NBA careers and ignoring collegiate careers on a college sports message board.

Meh, it was clear what his thread was about once you read the OP, and we discuss pro careers on here all the time. Feel free to do it by collegiate careers. My goodness some of you are dense AF.

No offense, but if you said the name Pete Maravich and Shaquille O'Neal, it's not close as to which is more well known. Even before the injuries, Pete wasn't the player Shaq was in the NBA. He was obviously great. He's on the top 75 all-time list. But O'Neal was a force that there was no answer for. With another legend on the team at the same time (Kobe), Jackson made the offense revolve around him. Shaq, maybe due to the fact he couldn't shoot free throws and was bigger than everyone, still doesn't get the credit he deserves. Why should his size even come up in your argument? It's like saying Phelps wasn't the best swimmer because he had extremely long arms and huge hands for his size. O'Neal was a freak athlete and developed a soft touch around the rim. He won three titles as the center piece of the offense and was an integral part to Miami's run a few years later.

Fess up. Are you Mr. Wuerffel or Mr. Tebow?

Ole Miss is Johnny Neumann.
Following a standout career at Overton High School in Memphis, Neumann took his game to the University of Mississippi, where he played from 1969 to 1971. During his sophomore season, he drew comparisons to Pete Maravich, after averaging an NCAA-high of 40.1 points per game.[1] His strongest performances included a 63-point game against Louisiana State University and a 60-point game against Baylor University.[2] Neumann earned All-America and SEC Player of the Year honors at the end of the season.

As I said regarding others, if it was about college, then we could certainly talk about Neumann.
But Neumann played 2 NBA seasons where he averaged 5.6 PPG, 1.0 RPG and 2.0 APG.

And yet no NBA historian would even mention him if we were talking top 20 professional players of all time. So all basketball historians are retarded.
I think I'm beginning to understand how Mr. Duke almost got into the US congress.

My guess is you didn't attend Florida. Reading comprehension is not your strong suit.
Where did I ever talk about SEC legends or college careers?
You keep saying this is a college board. By it's url, it's a football board, so I guess you all ought to stop mentioning any other sport, Mr. Wuerffel.

Then this thread belongs on tMSB.
NBA careers have absolutely nothing to do with who is the GOAT of any specific college team.

Trae is so bad on defense that the Hawks can't really get any return on him in a trade or he would've already been dealt. Griffin made the all NBA second team twice and third team three times. Trae has made the third team once.

Not even close.
He never won anything. Had inflated stats because his dad was the coach and let him shoot 40 times per game (really).
Wasn’t much of a drop off for LSU after he left. His dad sacrificed team success so his son could collect stats.
Kareem averaged 29 PTS on
17 shots/gm in college. Imagine if he took 37 per game like Pete, easily would’ve averaged 50+ per game.
Instead he won 3 national championships because he had a coach who actually wanted to win
All of the above is the reason Pete was mostly underwhelming in the NBA. Great player for sure but only finished Top 15 in MVP voting once. Several dozen players could’ve replicated what he did if they got 40 shots a game

Stupid. I'll try to remember this when you fools start talking about Joe vs. Cam vs. whoever in the NFL every fall.
And I'll certainly remember it when someone tries to claim their RB was better than Herschel.
Your argument is stupid and you know it.

For Bama it should be Robert Horry. Dude has seven rings.
As a lifelong Rockets fan, I approve this message. “Big Shot Bob” was a good one. Their offense was deadly with the inside/outside game with the Dream inside and so many shooters from outside. After that era I stopped watching NBA, it was just Harden jacking up 3’s.
