Laughable.

Wtf. They offered to fly in and play Saturday, Sunday or Monday? Keep trying to spin it. Reality is foley is either incompetent or a fraud.

I think he did and he totally outsmarted them. Now UF is winning the PR war on top of probably dictating what is going to happen to the makeup game.

So you want us to be the first away team in college football history to lose out on a home game AND revenue because of the incompetent home team? Eat shite, fig

ou understand why you postponed that game but you don't understand why not to postpone this game?

we had a bye week to postpone the game to then. we don't now
quote:

Let's say the game was today. When were you guys expecting to fly in? Where were you looking at staying? Were you thinking of flying in this morning and flying out tonight because you still can't find hotel space?

that's exactly what Alleva offered actually
quote:

Did you expect our players to help board up their families houses then come back on time for the game? Did you expect the 600,00 people without power to fire up generators to watch the game?

i don't know. FSU players and Miami players seemed to be able to play a game last night. How many players in that game do you think had families that were affected by the Hurricane? Why do fans need to be able to watch the game? How is that relevant to playing the game? You know how many fans were without electricity (or homes) after Katrina/Rita? A hell of a lot more than Florida.
quote:

Just because your fans are use to no electricity and running water and can't wait to get out of BR doesn't mean our fans do. You are not us. Never will be us.

if you had any credibility in your argument before, you lost all of it with this nonsense

This. So this.

ok so LSU is just supposed to "deal with" a 21 million dollar loss to the school and city of BR because Florida couldn't figure out a way to "deal with" hosting a football game this weekend. makes sense And Louisiana is already "dealing with" a natural disaster that happened a month ago. But yes, let's waste more resources in Louisiana because Gainesville doesn't feel like hosting a game like everyone else down the coast and in their state managed to do this weekend.

He's an idiot for posting that, and you're an idiot for agreeing with it. But it's LSU, so any rational thought goes completely out of the window when it's an A&M or Alabama fan, and in this case, Florida fans as well

This. These community-college educated hillbilly retards that make up the SECr would be complaining just as much had this been their school.

OK, I have read through all 9 pages, and I still haven't seen one honest answer to the question of why there was not a contingency plan to play on Sunday or Monday depending upon what happened with Matthew?

I believe MOST of this controversy could have been avoided had such a contingency plan been in place.

Can every one agree that this game COULD have been played today or tomorrow with such a plan in place? It sure seems that way, but maybe that is not the case.

I, for one, would have fully supported Florida's decision to postpone a Sunday or Monday game had Matthew affected Gainesville as much as was feared.

But, to blatantly NOT have a contingency in place smells of incompetence or downright manipulation.

This question has been asked. We await an honest answer.

yes you heard from random journalists. you didn't hear that from anyone that was actually a part of the conference call

Ya'll thought ya'll could weasel in another game in your shithole city. Fukk that.

i guess you missed the part where Alleva offered to play in Gainesville today, but your AD wanted to find a way to weasel out of the game entirely, and did that. So yeah, frick that guy

So are you telling us that everyone on UF squad will be healed by then?
Dollars to doughnuts, if LSU had lost to Missouri the game would have been played in Gainesville.

see that is exactly what so many people here are missing. Let's say the Hurricane did hit Gainesville and made it impossible to play. Ok, well we'd be in the exact same position we are in now. Had they left that option open, then the game would have been played today or tomorrow. But Foley wouldn't agree to any of that. It was 11 AM Saturday or bust. Sankey, being a total boob, then decided to let Foley dictate the entire thing and just cancelled the game. What he should have done is what Slive did when UT and LSU were at a standstill in 2005 and order the game be played today or tomorrow and tell Foley to make it work. If that became impossible, then they can explore other options and wouldn't look like they were dodging the game, which they absolutely were.

Florida saw the hurricane as an opportunity to get their QB healthy, to gain a 1 up on UT if the game couldn't be rescheduled, and an opportunity to put LSU in a precarious situation if it could be rescheduled only to November 19th. Sankey comes out of this looking terrible as a leader of this conference, and Foley comes out looking like a snake. Foley is retiring, so I doubt he gives a damn.

Then you saw me ask the exact same thing multiple times and they just won't answer it because there is no legitimate reply and they know it.

Yeah, and it was hot as F with no electricity. Trust me. I remember it well, me and all my refugee family from NOLA staying with us. If Gainesville had actually been hit, not to mention hit like BR was hit then we would clearly not be talking about this right now. We'd be shipping shite down to help Gainesville.

We didn't however cancel North Texas prior to the hurricane.

Don't try and compare your reaction to Matthew to what happened post Katrina. It's ridiculous, and even still we were flexible with N. Texas, and Arizona State games, as well as found a way to get UT in there as well. They beat us, but we still managed to get it done in spit of Rita. And props to UT for their flexibility as well. Take notes.
