Our favorite Ole Miss fan pops out of its burrow.

Kiffin could’ve stayed and coached the team and then left after the season. He chose to focus on his new opportunity instead of trying to win a championship.
Yeah, the portal window would be over, so he would have to suck it up with a bad first year class. But at least he would have coached in the playoffs.
And coaching in the playoffs is the entire point of playing the season.

Kiffin thought he could do both. He thought he could take the LSU job and, because of his ego, thought Ole Miss would beg him to stay. Instead they told him to pack his shite and leave. Then to save face, Kiffin told an unhappy group of assistants they could coach Ole Miss in the playoffs. But Kiffin was certain they would lose to Georgia. And it makes you think that if Kiffin had coached, they would have lost. Now he has gotten himself in another bind. Does he let them stay on? Or demand they come back? Either one is a losing proposition for him. If his coaches see it through at Ole Miss it will negatively impact LSU portal recruiting. But if he demands they focus 100% on LSU he has two problems. One is likely some disgruntled coaches. Two he becomes college footballs biggest villain. He is no longer seen as quirky and snidely humorous, instead he is seen as a complete narcissistic prick, in it completely for himself and not his players.
It all stems from his ego, he thought he was bigger than Ole Miss football and they would beg him to coach the team in the playoffs. When that didn’t happen, everything else unravelled.

Ole Miss wouldn't let him.

What? Take a better job?
You know better than that. Nobody blames him for taking a better job. But sabotaging his old team so that they won't win a NC is a huge low.

Mizzou fan Oh nvm, carry on.
Funny that you can't defend him, so you just resort to a lame dismissal. LSU hasn't had as classless a coach since Bo Pelini use to teach his players to hurt other players on purpose.

Wouldn't be the first person that thought they could pull a double salary from two places at the same time.

It’s time to pull the coaches, and maybe even the players like Lacy.

Enjoy your playoff run. I’m sure those coaches are going to want to coach through the playoffs. I don’t see how anybody’s going to stop them if that’s what they want. I can also see players wanting to follow those coaches to LSU. This situation is a problem for both schools that could’ve been solved and you guys allowed Kiffin to coach through the playoffs. That would’ve better screwed LSU and Kiffin. How would we have handled the transfer portal in that situation? No ego driven head coach is not going to focus on trying to win the national championship. You should’ve saved your outrage for after the playoffs.

This has everything to do with Alabama. Which is why most of the feigned outrage came from Rece Davis, etc. More outrage coming from Alabama and proxies than Mississippi since the announcement. Bammers thought they were going to get Lane at their leisure. Now, having to deal with him at LSU with real talent…for years. And, they know what’s coming. BTA.
Goodman is an Auburn homer. If Alabama wanted Lane we would have hired him after Saban. Kiffin won’t ever be the coach at Alabama unless there are some major changes.

That's not true and you know it. How pissed off were Mizzou fans when LSU hired Baker back. Called it a lateral move. He's already gotten HC offers.

He's sabotaging Ole Miss by allowing them to use the majority of his offensive staff for their playoff run? You gotta explain how that works to me.

Yeah I guess that’s right. Seemed like things went south during that meeting.
There was whole thing about him taking all the assistants, and if they didn’t board the plane then…. they wouldn't have a spot on his new staff…

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't LSU have to pay money if Ole Miss wins?
If the answer is yes then why on Earth would the people who just paid Kiffin not force Lane's hand to pull the coaches?
Seriously, emotionally detach yourself and think about it.
If I'm a LSU fan I am glad Lane's doing this. It was his team. Now it's not his team so why would Lane help them?

Nobody was pissed about Baker. Baker was nothing but class in how he handled himself. It's just another made up point by you that you've failed to back up.
Funny how you have to keep resorting to changing what I said and putting your new words into quotes to try to bolster your argument rather than actually using facts you come up with yourself.

I thought Kiffin wanted to coach the Rebels in the playoffs, but Keith Carter didn’t allow it.
Kiffin both offered to both coach and to poach according to articles.
"Kiffin is essentially threatening to poach Ole Miss' roster and coaching staff if he is not allowed to finish coaching the 2025 season with the Rebels."
Not surprising though because he did try to poach a QB from Texas A&M also.
LSU's Lane Kiffin attempts to poach SEC QB with bold 9-word message.
Nobody blames Kiffin for taking another job. If that's all it was, nobody would have a problem with him.
