From a baseball after thought to SEC champs is a pretty impressive turnaround. Especially in the short amount of time Wes has been there. Congratulations.

Thanks. It's kind of funny. Some Dawgs still talk about Brooks as if he's been average. I think you guys came after him fairly strong after you got rid of your AD. Think he's done a great job.

My only regret for Brooks is that he’s being hamstrung by the NIL era. He’s a facilities guy at heart so the things I’m sure he would love to do with Foley and Sanford just aren’t feasible when we’re having to shell out money just to retain players. Foley was supposed to get a phase 2 renovation that would include the 1b line, right field, and a rumored parking deck and bleachers out in left but idk where that’s at now.

Yep - the have turned into a powerhouse and done it quick.
Even with our Tigers having a tough season- SEC damn sure best baseball conf in the country.
Hope we don’t get a post season that forces us to cannibalize the conf and it’s well represented in Omaha

LSU baseball has set a high bar, that nobody will reach in the foreseeable future. I suspect LSU will be back next year, but we will enjoy our season this year.

Uga is a solid baseball team. Could make alot of noise in Omaha if pitching comes around.

For phase 1 which was the 3B line and performance center. Phase 2 was supposed to modernize right field and add bleachers to left. May still happen (especially now that we have an actual title to show for the efforts) but a big reason the momentum cooled was NIL and refocusing finances on keeping winning teams on the field

He makes a great argument for #1. Just about every sport short of women’s golf has elevated if not won a conference title or national title since he’s gotten here. And he did it while making Sanford, Foley, and Stegeman actual decent facilities (all could still go further but they’re light years ahead of where they were in the early to mid aughts). Which is funny considering his predecessor insisted we couldn’t spend any money ever on anything including coaches

The upgrades to Stegman have been great. If you would have asked me 15 years ago, I would have told you that there is no hope for improving it and to tear it down and replace it with something on campus.
