I dont think the OP poster realizes that UK has the chance to win two legs of the "Big 3" having one already in hand. LSU only has a chance to win one if they can take baseball.
I am from KY and live in LA and support both programs which allows me to look at each with more level headedness than others. This OP is what is pathetic...

Ball game!
Good game LSU.
Good game LSU.

LSU was in the national championship for football this past year and has a good chance to make it again this year. Are you saying if LSU were to win the CWS it would only put them on par with Kentucky athletics this year since they only won one championship?

No. He's talking about THIS YEAR. Let's not extrapolate too much.

Exactly. Apparently we're supposed to conveniently skip current events because we've had some shitty AD's in the past that put no value on anything but basketball.

Attendance announced at 2625. Keeneland, Thunder over Louisville and UK''s spring game going on too. Not bad, but not great either considering what's at stake.

I am only talking about this year. If LSU wins the CWS does that only put them on par with UK from an athletic department standpoint?
Posted on 4/21/12 at 3:48 pm to UpToPar
No.
Football...
Basketball...
Baseball...
Are you really comparing winning the CWS to winning the Men's basketball NC?

Posted on 4/21/12 at 3:50 pm to busey

No. You didn't win. If ifs and buts were candy and nuts...
You starting bring "well we played for this but didn't win" kinda stuff in, it complicates the whole process.

so since we didn't win the NC in football and neither did UK, then UKs and LSUs football programs are equally successful...got it

Simply going by the score. Championships this year: UK - 1 LSU - 0.
Dont get me wrong. I am a big LSU football fan and have been for 20+ yrs. Jan 9th has been permanently removed from my calander and I anxiously await next FB season with Mett and the fab five... But gettin close dont count.

When comparing athletic programs, a NC berth counts for quite a bit.
Posted on 4/21/12 at 3:54 pm to busey
busey, what going on in here?

Posted on 4/21/12 at 3:54 pm to UpToPar
No one said that. Again with the extrapolating...
I'm talking about championships. I don't know what you're talking about.

It sure as frick counts when comparing overall athletics.

That's not what I'm comparing.
Posted on 4/21/12 at 3:55 pm to GetmorewithLes
I'm not arguing championships, I'm saying LSUs athletics program as a whole is more successful than UKs. There's more than just championships that go into that.
