“NIL has ruined cfb”
“Players only want to enter the portal and get paid”

“I hope the team I cheer for pays 2.5 million for that kid for a year”

Yeah there is a direct correlation to cost of roster and results on the field. Just look at LSU last year.

Yeah the guys who evaluated and targeted all of that “talent” must really suck.

Where are they now? Oh yeah, most of them are at Ole Miss.

Its 2026 baw. Your coach just unlocked the cheat codes at a different school.

You now see the reason he left.

Both can be true.

I hate what the portal and NIL has done to college football. But if that's going to be the game going forward, I want LSU to be the best at playing that game.

I think LSU was the only team in top 5 portal rankings last year to not make the playoffs so I’d say it’s somewhat related to results on the field.

There are 8 others that made it without being there. 6 if we exclude the 2 DEI teams in Tulane and JMU, which seems warranted.

It is since the playoff era. If you look at the teams that are playoff it tends to be the ones who paid the most on the roster. Not always. The exceptions are teams who hit homeruns in development which is more rare. The teams that dump in portal easily have a much higher chance at hitting the playoffs. It's not even really debatable when you look at past playoff teams. There's very few exceptions and usually they get bounced in the first round because they were the product of a weak schedule getting automatic bids.

I think at this point in NIL, all colleges should be worried about donor burnout. This current model is not sustainable. Even all the schools with billionaire donors are going to get tired of it. Everyone is just fighting right now with the expectation it will sort itself out eventually, otherwise you're going to get some massive donor burnout.

Gonna be funny when you turn out to be a bubble team, just like texas. 13-24 vs top 25 LMFAO.

Well, since we’re talking about 12 teams and a “top 5” there will literally always be 7 teams, minimum, that make it that aren’t in the top 5.

What a dumb fricking thing to say. No offense.

I'm not sure if you are agreeing with me or calling me dumb.

That was the point of my post. I'm not the one who claimed it was significant, your fellow LSU fan did.
