Harold Perkins would have been really helpful in that situation

There is no surprise! Reed has already beaten piggie and the gators this season. He is the backup QB. He has started three games this season. He should not have been a surprise to anyone.

LoSerU just did not prepare for the fact that Reed might play. That is extremely shitty coaching on Kelly and the LoSerU DC.

Sheesh.

On that last TD he was so late in pulling the ball I was amazed he didn't lose the ball. The RB was literally being tackled when he pulled it. It was masterful. Just don't know how many times out of 10 he can get away with that without a fumble.

That was awesome. I thought he got tackled for a loss for a second

LSU didn't/couldn't adjust

I'm convinced our coaches never knew there was a quarterback change.

Honestly, it’s just prepare for a mobile QB and stack the box. Marcel does a great job of not turning the ball over, but he’s not a huge threat with his arm just yet. Arkansas and Bowling Green both handled him reasonably well even though both games were wins for A&M.

Teams with depth will stop him.

Does any team really have depth in the NIL/portal era? Certainly not like Bama, Ohio St, and Georgia of yesteryear.

We made him look better than he is. That said, saw him play multiple times in high school, he's very athletic. I would prolly play him rest of the way if I was Aggie instead of Wegman.

Thing is, Weigman is still an option. He’s had a couple of bad games, but also looked good against Mizzou.

If he has time, he can deliver a good ball. He just gets rattled when the pursuit is all over him.

There is a case to be made that if you adjust for one, we put in the other. Both are beatable, but you have to adjust.

With Reed they ran the zone read which is what Texas ran with Vince. They will adjust and the the play calling will have to adjust as Reed isn't Vince. The easiest adjustment is edges contain and do not crash inside with fake.

Not taking anything away from VY. He got jobbed on the Heisman, IMHO.

That being said, and noting that he is a freshman, what do you see as the gap between the two.

VY had more size (bulk), but Marcel seems quicker.

And that was due to our QB coughing up the ball. Before the go ahead TD drive they had been stuffed all day.

A&M's running backs had 110 yards on 19 carries before Marcel Reed even entered the game.

BOTH Marcel and Connor are going to have to be prepared to play in every game. Same as it has been all year.

Well yeah, if it were only that easy. A&M’s featured back is among the top rushers in the conference. If the ends stay home look for Moss to get 4 ypc all game.

Don’t sleep on Daniels and Bussey either. Those two offer good “changeups” to the run game.

Solid interior play stops the Ags. If opposing DTs can control the LOS, A&M has to stray from what they’re comfortable doing.
