And how many plays has he actually ran in front of the coaching staff?

How many passes has the kid thrown at Texas?

This is really silly.

Should a TFr #1 overall player beat out a 3rd year #1 Overall player within the 4th practice?

That was never discussed. I was responding to the poster wanting to compare him to Stetson Bennett. It simply isn't a fair comparison.

Expecting a TFreshman to take over immediately isn't really reasonable either, especially when the school already has a good young QB. I would expect the #1 player in the country to develop faster than a walk on, though, wouldn't you?

ETA
You saying you think it is fair to compare expectations for Manning to expectations for Stetson Bennett coming out of HS?

Anyone criticizing Arch as an early entry should think about where Stetson Bennett was as a first, second, third and fourth year player.

I mean. The vast majority of freshman are usually listed 2nd or 3rd or further on the Spring Depth chart. Think the Arch overhype has already been covered more than Brandon Miller.

Happy to hate on TX but it would be more worrying if a true freshman was running first string his first couple weeks of practice. Guys need to earn the respect of other players + coaches and show what they can do.
