Just booked a couple of tickets when the Hogs roll on down to Gainsville. What are the must do's in and around Gainsville? Staying in Orlando and driving up day of the game.

Outback Steakhouse, it’s a local premium restaurant in the area.

Seconded. Best restaurant in town. Can’t miss it!

I hate to hear this. That's why I'm staying in Orlando for a few days prior. Was hopeful they had at least one good place to drop in before the game. (Hopeful it's an afternoon or evening game.)

As someone who went to a game there not knowing shite (uncle tour guide) we ended up hanging out at W University Ave just NE of the stadium. Lots of bars and restaurants then tailgated on the other side of the street. Standard college Saturday stuff. Great time.

Orlando is a cesspool. Jekyll Island, Ga., Jacksonville, Fernadina Beach would be a good trip.

If you’re staying in Orlando definitely go to Charley’s steakhouse.

In Gainesville itself, I’ve had very mixed results on game day, so my advice there is perhaps not the best. But I do advise getting pizza from Leonardo’s. It’s a couple of miles northwest of the university in millhopper shopping center, but it’s worth the trek. Chicago style pizza that I think is better than the actual stuff in Chicago.

The dawg don't know as they do not play in Gainesville. Never a bad time in Gainesville. Go early as parking on campus is a bitch but then again all of the campuses are. Go early and try to sneak a car in behind the Weil, Rhines building right at the stadium.
The Swamp can rock!

You'll find out quickly how much better Fayetteville is than Gainesville.

Agreed, though if you are coming from that way, make sure to use the Starke bypass on route 301.

Gainesville sucks and so does POS Orlando

so since there's no kids obviously (two tickets), skip fricking Orlando and stay in St Augustine to the east or Cedar Key to the west

Payne's Prairie is a nice natural interlude if you enjoy that kind of thing.

I recommend Mom's for a burger, not sure if it's Irish or not but had that vibe for a cool dive bar.
