Can we agree that Joe Alleva was, in fact, a good AD and was unfairly run off by the sidewalk Cajuns?

O would have never worked in California. The pompous douchebags in that state would have never welcomed him as permanent HC.

No, he made a business decision based almost entirely off of emotion. That alone is enough to make him a bad AD.

It just so happened that the decision worked out. More often than not, it doesn’t.

Edit: I won’t go as far to say he would be as successful at USC as he has been so far at LSU, but they would be a hell of a lot better off with O.

Alleva was fired because of what went down with Will Wade. Check your facts, bruh.

I know you're trolling but at the time, it can not be denied that Orgeron was a terrible hire. I'm so happy that this has worked out, but it worked out IN SPITE of Alleva. LSU shouldn't whiff on multiple coaching hires and end up promoting the DL coach.

Woodward > Alleva by a wide arse margin. Alleva had to go simply for the way he handled the will Wade debacle.

Uh, O was working in California dumbass. He was interim coach and was responsible for turning their season around and getting them bowl eligible. They played like a totally different team under orgeron. That's the reason why their student body, players, and fans clamored so much for keeping him as head coach. Hell, he's recruiting very well in California and nationally at LSU, why wouldnt he be able to recruit California and build something at USC? Your post makes no sense. He proved he could do it and was passed over for frickin helton? Lol, thank God they did make that mistake. LSU is the beneficiary now, despite much of our fanbase being unhappy with his hire. He has proven himself, not simply talked about it, he is being about it. We are blessed to have him at lsu. Geaux tigers.

As a UTk fan I'm curious why LSU rustles your jimmies.

This was simply a question that crossed my mind seeing Orgeron universally praised

Tbh, who knows if O was ever gonna work at USC.

I think O is a great coach, but I also think he is in the absolute perfect fit for him

I agree with this and have said as much. He has proven that he knows how to run a program. I'm saying the fans and boosters at USC didn't want him and wouldn't have accepted him because he sounds like a redneck.

USC didn't already have a top DC. They also didn't have 3 straight top 5 classes.

These are the facts. Ed inherited a team that had higher average recruiting rankings than Miles and Saban.

Plus he's a Louisiana guy. The Louisiana families get him.

There is such a thing as fit. He doesn't fit in there.

Plus they probably run him off with that offense he trotted out the first two seasons here.

Yes Ed has exceeded my expectations, but two things changed this program. Burrow and Brady. Without that, we aren't the #1 team rt now.

So basically all these same things would have had to fallen in place there, very unlikely.

I'll give you that, he played loose. But remember when he became LSUs perma coach? Yeah, 2017 happened. He reverted back to being conservative and interfering with his coaches.

But he learned real quick he couldn't keep that up.

And none of this is to knock Orgeron. He's a perfect fit for LSU.

you obviously don't follow LSU well enough to judge then

Alleva's handling of Wade was horrible BTW and he's been a little bitch the entire time at LSU. He should have never let Miles bluff him with Arkansas.

Alleva had no business getting this job after what he did to Duke. He forced that coach to resign or be fired over false allegations because Alleva caves to public perception as always.

frick Alleva. I am so thankful he no longer holds the position at LSU.
