Alleva is also smug and arrogant.

I just cannot stand him for what he did to Duke. I have always resented the fact that he was in charge at LSU, because of it.

No he was horrible. He got very lucky O evolved into a solid HC. He bungled so many situations. And even the hiring process that landed O

No he was a horrible AD.

Wanting to move from Miles was understandable but how he went about it since 2015 was horrendous even if the end result is working out. UGA also fired a long tome respectable coach at the time but did it professionally. Alleva was a disgrace. He also botched other situations.

Can we agree that Joe Alleva was, in fact, a good AD and was unfairly run off by the sidewalk Cajuns?

If you gave your financial advisor your life savings and he put them on a roulette table, you’d fire him even if you won.

His job is to find the most reward for the smallest risk. As much as I like O, he was a very big gamble, and it literally just now paying off.

I feel for you. Herman sucks. It wasn't supposed to be that way.

In 2013, Alleva gave Miles an extension and a huge buyout. And in 2014, Alleva began the firing process.

In 2015, Alleva wanted to fire Miles but was told no by F. King Alexander, because he just gave him this huge buyout.

Alleva was incompetent.

It wasn't "sidewalk Cajuns" that ran off Alleva. There is more to being AD than hiring coaches, a lot more, that was Alleva's final undoing. The real number one responsibility of an AD is fund raising, it was falling off drastically because Joe thought he was above smoozing sponsors and Alumni. He didn't meet or have a personal relationship with his coaches in any sport.

I was at a luncheon with RL (if you don't know who that is, too bad) he said the main reason he was after Alleva was the mismanagement of the AD. I also suspect that Scott Woodward availability was the real reason.

Alleva did hire 2 successful coaches, but it wasn't enough to make up for the other deficiencies.
