He had a pending suspension for synthetic too.

Just realized that Gilbert has to play @ LSU this year. That game is gonna be must see TV
Why? Gilbert won't play in it.

I don't think LSU's drug suspension follows the player to a new school
Each school has their own policy and Fla has yet to test him
Now if he failed a NCAA mandated test than that's a different story
His number one goal is make sure he's academically eligible as well
Since he is not enrolled at LSU and he is enrolling late at Fla this semester that may impact when he is eligible according to SEC rules

The main question is, how many hours did he pass in the fall?

Which test is that?
I know they test some players that make
it to the CFB playoffs or NY6 bowls.

SEC rule has him ineligible at the moment:
LINK /
Must complete 1 full academic year before transferring and he did not do that so not sure how he gets around that regardless what the NCAA does. NCAA may give free pass to almost everyone but the conference can still step in and say he isn't eligible going from SEC to SEC institution.

If he gets the right lawyer he will get to play immediately. Besides it is Florida they made the promise.

Lawyers can’t help him pass enough hours to be eligible. That’s up to him.

SEC rule
the ncaa transfer rule of last season supersedes conference rules. It's a pretty good bet the same rule will apply this season. As far as that goes it's only a matter of time till it's a rule that any player can transfer once and be immediately eligible. It may even pass this next session.

Are you talking about the rule that lets guys transfer if their team was not playing due to CV ?
How would that apply to Gilbert?

will probably be extended to this coming season
NCAA Council Passes Waiver to Grant All D-I Transfer Athletes Immediate Eligibility

That does not supercede conference transfer rules.

Are you 100% positive that he is not taking online classea at LSU right now? Ive read on the internet that he is taking classes right now (could be wrong... but it makes sense that a fall athlete is not taking a spring semester off)

It might take a year for his body to stop hurting anyway.

Fields didn't transfer in conference.

On top of that, he won't be eligible academically and has quadruple failed drug tests.
Makes you wonder why LSU didn't suspend him with all those failed drug tests. I mean he wouldn't have been tested after he opted out, so all those "quadruple failed drug tests" must have happened while he was playing.

unless LSU does them a huge favor in covering this stuff up which I think would be ridiculous
If he had quadruple failed drug tests, it sounds as if LSU has been covering it all up.
Any LSU fans want to comment on this?

This only had to do with players with pending cases I believe.

He will be granted immediate eligibility because of cruel and unusual punishment of having to listen to HC without a translator and having bat shite crazy cajuns everywhere.
