If that Midwest Regional was played at the Pacers arena the ticket prices would likely match the South region. Kentucky, Tennessee and Purdue all playing in Indianapolis are 3 big basketball fanbases who travel to watch their schools playing within easy drives of their homes.

Also, Houston getting hosed as a #1 seed again. They gotta be getting pretty tired of playing lower seeds in road games the last 4-5 years. Had to play Auburn in Birmingham, now basically going to have to play back to back road games in the Sweet 16 and Elite 8. I guess the consolation is that if they can make it through that they get to play the Final Four in Texas.

Not sure why this is a brag. Just means Auburn fans are willing to be fleeced just to watch a basketball game

Nah. The ones who waited to buy, maybe. But I have friends who bought tix for both sessions a month ago for around $500. Tix for just session 1 were in the $200s. Auburn fans are the ones who drove up the prices. Even in the 2nd half of the Creighton game, tickets were just $300-$350 and then skyrocketed into the $600’s immediately after Auburn won.

It’s the other 3 teams who will mostly be fleeced. Poor Ole Miss clinched and tix were already at $700 just to get in the door.

I think it will be the third banner hung this year. Maui Invitational Championship, SEC Regular Season Championship, highest ticket championship

I wonder why they're playing in State Farm and not the Benz? The Indy games are in Lucas Oil Stadium.

That’s crazy. Wouldn’t even pay that much for a Final Four game personally. That kind of money I’d only drop on the World Cup.

They shifted to playing S16/E8 games in professional NBA/NHL arenas about 5 years ago. I'm more curious why the Indianapolis one is back in a dome and not at the Pacers arena.

Yeah me too. The atmosphere suffers in those big domes but at least fans can get in for a relatively affordable price. Having UK, Purdue, and TN fans all in the same venue would be insane in the Pacers Arena… tix would be over $1000

Currently $619. Good thing AU fans have been buying these up for weeks.

Good Lord, there's going to be a flood of foreclosed single-wide trailers on the market soon.

I hate watching basketball in huge football stadiums. It’s an ugly watch, not to mention very difficult for the players to shoot because of depth perception. Anytime you see games played in huge stadiums, just bet the under because lots of missed shots.

Yes. I went to Auburn’s Final Four game in 2019, and felt the atmosphere was lacking due to the gigantic size of the dome. I sort of decided that I had checked off a bucket list item, and if Auburn ever makes another Final Four, I’ll probably just wait to see if we make it to Monday and only go to the title game the next time around.

I used to go to the SEC Tourney at the GA Dome back in the day, and while it too was a bad venue for basketball, at least they didn’t seat anyone way up in the upper decks…. That made it a bit better.

AU fans have been buying up tickets in ATL ever since the win over alabama in Tuscaloosa.

Of course, alabama fans will try and claim their Super Bowl victory as a landmark achievement when Auburn was in full coast mode.

Landmark achievements happen in the NCAA Tournament.

Hmm must not be due to Arky fans. You can go to your next game for $167.

Two things:

What does the price of the ticket have to do with the actual game.

Also, if Arkansas was playing in Memphis (about the same distance as Auburn to Atlanta), the prices would be similar. I know I’d work overtime to try and go to it.

I guess I don’t get the point.

Well these are just the prices of the tickets on the secondary market. Just facts. Not sure what point you are looking for.

As for the case of Atlanta, there is obviously strong demand and limited supply… more so than normal.
