Richt not wanting the thugs he recruits going elsewhere. If he can't have them, no one can.

quote:

Alabama gave Jonathan Taylor another chance after Georgia dismissed the defensive tackle last summer following a felony domestic violence arrest. He was booted again from a Southeastern Conference school in March after a second domestic violence incident in Tuscaloosa.

Under an SEC legislative proposal that Georgia is sponsoring, athletes like Taylor could not transfer to an SEC school if they had been disciplined for “serious misconduct” by a school or athletic department while enrolled at another college. Sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking, dating violence or other forms of physical violence would be considered serious misconduct.

Because they benefit from it and don't want to lose their pipeline.

The Georgia tards will likely try to connect this to Auburn even though we have never taken such a player

Maybe Georgia shouldn't introduce these derelicts to the conference to begin with

Auburn had a pretty good linebacker named Patrick Trahan end up at Ole Miss a few years ago after flunking out of Auburn. Most Auburn fans didn't cry about Ole Miss taking him even though Auburn plays them every year

It's still a good proposal. If the SEC is special, then players shouldn't be rewarded by being able to jump to another SEC school. I'm for 2nd chances, but there should be some consequences, and jumping to another SEC school means no real consequences. If anybody thinks a person should be expelled, they they must also think that person shouldn't be able to go to an equal or better place. Obviously, fans and coaches don't care about right and wrong, though.

But they can transfer outside the SEC? Seems a bit pretentious on the morals.

Anyone who abuses women doesn't belong in the conference. I'd like to see Spurrier ' s idea come to fruition: Anyone who touches a female in a violent manner should be banned from collegiate athletics.

Don't kid yourself. This is about making sure Georgia doesn't have to play against them every year.

This pretty much sums up why it's a bad idea.

The only reason the rule would be written that way (sec ban only) is because the conference doesn't have the authority to do anything about the other leagues. We can't tell the big 12 what to do so why not start where we can?

Why should one state pass a law when there isn't an identical law in the next state? You do what you have the authority to do.

Anyone saying this is a bad idea is letting their dislike of UGA cloud their judgement. How is it controversial at all to say guys like Jonathan Taylor shouldn't be allowed to play in the SEC? It's extremely common sense.

What about Les? Was he morally wrong for taking Mettenberger?
